This was a great read, excellent wintery vibes
I really enjoyed the main character and the journey we went on with her and how her life completely changed overnight and did a full reset ending up in a completely different place than were she thought she would be
I love a book where the main character is a chef etc and the food in this book all sounded so good - the descriptions of the taste and look were all making me hungry
Romance is more a subplot of this book, literally got to 50% and didn't even know if there was a new love interest, which I really enjoyed and could more concentrate on the FMC and her journey more than 'when will these people finally kiss etc'
I was shocked when I saw that this was a debut novel, it was so good!
- winter
- love triangle (kinda)
- unexpected break up leading to moving to a different country
- 1st person, single pov
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria for an ARC - all opinions are my own

This was a really fun read
Idk why but I'm kinda hesitant about picking up books with an amnesiac plot line, however as this one was a fake amnesia I found it really fun with Sam having to sneak around Johnathan and pretend he didn't know things
I like how Johnathan was really grumpy to start off with and warmed up to Sam's cat straight away and had to pretend that he didn't actually like that cat when he very much did
There were lots of side characters but it didn't feel overwhelming which sometimes can happen
I really enjoyed the narrator, the accents were so good
- MM romance
- workplace (boss x employee)
- (fake) amnesia
- forced proximity
- set around Christmas

I struggled a lot with this book, not entirely sure why, I liked the writing and the plot but I just couldn't get fully invested in it.
I enjoyed the plot of trying to solve the curse a lot more than the romance, which I just didn't really feel. (minor spoilers) they start off meeting in a pub and hitting it off and liking each other, only to find out the next day they're both working at the same castle and a minor misunderstanding leads to them being 'enemies' and then over the course of the book they become lovers but I just didn't really feel the shift in feelings/really understand why they were enemies
There were some parts of the book I really enjoyed but overall it was a miss for me
Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the arc - all opinions are my own
- 3rd person, duel pov
- enemies to lover
- co-workers (kinda)
- curse breaking / solving

One of the MMCs Jake is giving me the ick, the FMC Rachel was kinda annoying at times
Also I'm not in the mood for another 20 hours of this

Overall I enjoyed this book - a fun little novella, however my main issue with it was the pacing of the story. I know that novellas typically are fast paced and things can happen quickly the pace difference between the first half and the second half threw me off a bit.
The first half was a good pace in setting up the story and the annoyance/conflict between the characters. Then the second half suddenly was very fast paced, with the characters very quickly getting along and then together. I wanted to see more of the transition/a more consistent pacing between the two halfs
That said Ill definitely be checking out the rest of the series once it comes out
- prequel novella to a series
- sports romance (hockey)
- small town
- forced proximity
- fast pace
Thank you to NetGalley for the arc - all opinions are my own

Overall I really enjoyed this book - even tho the main characters are a lot older than me I still found them relatable and liked the journey we went on with them
The first 30% or so I found a bit slow - it was mostly just setting the scene and there wasn't much interaction between the two main characters
However the story quickly picked up after that and I really enjoyed the friendship/relationship growing between the characters
I really enjoyed the discussion around sexuality and figuring it out even later in life and not having to have it all worked out when you're young
- 3rd person / duel pov
- secret identity
- lgbt rep

Going into this book I wasn't sure if I'd like it, I wasn't a huge fan of Icebreaker but then saw some good things about this and saw Teddy was a narrator so thought I'd give it a go, and I'm so glad I did
I loved this book and was such a joy to listen to - the summer vibes were immaculate
I really enjoyed both narrator's and thought they did a great job
Like with Icebreaker at times there were so many characters I lost track of who's who (mainly with the friend group/hockey team from UCMH they're all basically one person to me at this point)
Idk why but I just didn't fully vibe with the epilogue, I loved seeing them years down the line and we got to see what there life is like but yea just not vibing with it (no reason just not my fave)
- summer camp
- forced proximity
- sneaking around
- one night stand to oh sh!t we've got to work together all summer and dating each other is kinda forbidden
- sports adjacent (he's a hockey player but no hockey is played)

This was a fun quick read, I really liked both main characters and enjoyed the cozy wintery vibes
The spice went 0 to 100 real quick and then back again - which wasn't my favourite like one second they'd be doing something different and the next full on spice
- novella
- winter
- queer fmc
- forced proximity
- monster romance
