Honestly just writing style just wasn't for me

This was so cute, I enjoyed the scheming and the sneaking around

I really enjoyed the last 3rd when people started working out that they were together and scheming/planning with them to get their parents together/give them time alone

The epilogue was so cute and I want a second book picking up where the epilogue left off

- regency england
- queer (sapphic)
- low spice
- dual pov / 3rd person

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin for the arc - all opinions are my own

I loved the previous books in this series and seen quotes from this book online which made me excited to read it but I just didn't love it

I got bored in the first half with the MCs constant fighting and them taking until over 300 pages to get together I was kinda bored by that point

The second half definitely did picked up once they got together and there were parts I did really enjoy, just wish it didn't take so long to get there

The MMC telling the FMC that they're together and not asking her and just demanding it was a bit of an ick for me

- childhood friends to rivals to lovers
- small town
- romantic suspense

I really enjoyed this, I liked both the narrators and enjoyed the sound effects and how they added to the story and weren’t too distracting (which can be the case sometimes)

- second chance
- duet narration

This was one of my top reads of 2023 and I loved rereading it and experience it through audio

I thought both narrators did such a good job and loved that it was a duet narration

- sports romance (hockey)
- brothers best friend / teammates little sister
- forbidden
- summer roadtrip
- age gap
- duel pov / 1st person / duet narration

Honestly this book is so long and so much happens I feel like I've forgotten 90% of it (the month long break in the middle didn't help)

I enjoyed the audio but kinda wished I eyeball read it instead just as the fast paced moments with lots of action I had to pause/go back as there was so much happening I need to work out what I actually listened to (and imo I wasn't even listening that fast at x1.45 which is on the slower side for me)

The lack of communication/miscommunication/whatever the fuck was happening between Violet and Xaden got on my nerves real quick and I was so glad when (minor spoiler) they agreed to no secrets and I really hope they stick to that in the next book or so otherwise I'll dnf so fast

As a forced proximity lover, the first half where Violet and Xaden were forced to be apart was straight up not a vibe and I didn't like it here

the use of "recovered correspondence" for some pre chapter spiel is making me so uneasy like wtf is going to happen in the rest of the series, it's making me so uneasy and we still have 3 books left (I think)

This whole series is giving me major Divergent series vibes and the more I think about it the more parallels I can draw, just as long as it doesn't end the way Allegiant did (iykyk)

I did pause this at one point for like a week cos there was a plot point which just made me so irrationally angry, I needed to take a break cos honestly what the actual fuck was I reading at one point

Also this was so long, like no audiobook needs to be longer than a day. As I said at the start so much happens that I don't even remember half of it, this could've easily been 2 books

Finally, this cliffhanger at the end seems less dramatic than the one in FW, maybe it's cos so much drama happened that I was just glad to get to the end of it and be able to move on to reasonable length audiobooks (aka anything 14 hours or less)

- romantic fantasy
- dragons
- miscommunication
- so much drama / action idek what happened
- 1 very stupid and annoy plot point I wish it never existed

I loved this book

I was obsessed with Wes and Ada from the very start. Their meet cute was so good, making out with each out in Brooks bar and not exchanging names only for Ada to turn up at her new job the next day and it turns out that she made out with her new boss, Wes. It's honestly a storyline I could next get bored of and this was done so good

I love the way that their relationship grew and that they were open with each other and had conversations that maybe other people would shy away from

Don't get me wrong I love a book with angst and drama but I loved and really enjoyed how light-hearted and soft this book was.

The third act conflicts didn't really last that long with having conversations and trusting that they'd come back to each other (and they did, and it was none of this moping about for 3 weeks for zero reason)

I really enjoyed Done and Dusted but loved this one even more

- cowboy romance

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus books for the arc - all opinions are my own

Evie and Beck have my heart 💛

"seasons change and so do we"

LOVE this book, it's so warm and comforting finding your happy - which for me is this book

- previous one night stand
- second chance
- opposites attract-ish
- grumpy x sunshine
- small town

This was so cute, if youve read The Charmed Offensive I highly recommend this as a cute little Christmas story

- Christmas novella
- established relationship
- queer
