This wasn't actually a bad book; it just wasn't written for me. Overall, an interesting look at the near future about what it might be like to have a virtual world that is almost as real as the real world.
Not too dense and not too simplistic. I enjoyed learning how cooperation has evolved across the animal kingdom and how different species use it to differing degrees. There is an interesting backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and how humanity's sense of cooperation has both helped and hurt us to get through it all.
Every book in this serious has been heart wrenching but this one hit hardest. A loyal hunting dog must survive in the wilds of Australia after his human is bit by a snake and dies. He is confronted time and time again by a pack of wild dogs and other animals throughout the outback.

A fun and brutal Viking inspired story. Think, Vikings meets Wonder Woman meets Romeo & Juliet. It sounds weird, but it works.
Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it's still pretty good. Luckily, I've never had a bull shit job, but I've already started noticing and reflecting on some bull shit tasks, and hopefully, I can make work better because of it.
I don't always enjoy this type of book where the author waxes poetically about something, but I could really relate to the feelings that Leopold had. Maybe one day I won't live in a city anymore and can wax poetically about nature and wildlife to myself.
Equal parts a study in why pirates are so fascinating and a look at the history of them. This is a relatively short and highly digestible history of everyone favorite swashbucklers.
This is my second read of this book, and my rating didn't change. It's a good story, and I do like learning more about Palpatine's training and Plageius' ideas for the Sith. What I didn't like was how much this book was political/business centric. I know this is a big part of how the Sith ultimately took over, but it was just too much for me, and I found myself falling asleep while reading way too much. Could have been maybe 100 pages shorter.
