My Age of Anxiety: Fear, Hope, Dread, and the Search for Peace of Mind

Scott Stossel

DID NOT FINISH

It's not that I thought this book was bad, the parts I got through we're actually very therapeutic, but, something about hearing him talk (I did audio) about his problems just seemed to make mine worse. I made a decision to not finish this to preserve my own sanity. However, I think this book could do a lot of people who suffer from anxiety a lot of good.

An adorable story about humans and animals working to save the swamp they all call home. A great mix of realism and mysticism. The Sugar Man is the guardian of the swamp who sleeps until he is needed and it is the job of the scouts to wake him. I listened to this book and Lyle Lovett's voice was the perfect touch for this folksy tale.

3.5 stars. This is the first true romance novel I have ever read and I actually really enjoyed it. It certainly helped that the story around the two main characters was fascinating and that it's a period of time that I am interested in. The romance wasn't too heavy handed and Alyssa Cole does a fantastic job really making you care about the characters.
