I was having a difficult time collecting my thoughts about this volume into words but the bottom line is that I just can't bring myself to like any part of it. The plotline of Bruce being 'damned to a living hell' because he doesn't have his intelligence anymore seems really ableist to me since people with intellectual disabilities in reality are often seen as living inferior lives even when they can be as happy as anyone else if they're not being bullied or neglected.

From a writing aspect these first few issues are messy, the cover of the first comic contains the text 'Who shot Bruce Banner?' leading readers to believe finding the complete explanation will be the major story, yet that question is not answered in the following volume. Instead it is pushed to the side for a plot built on drama surrounding Bruce possibly losing his genius, which is wrapped up quickly and shallowly in the last few pages.

Maybe the following comics will improve upon their start, but the beginning of this series is not nearly as well-written or gripping as I wish it was.

The first few issues of this comic were really sweet but the last one, featuring the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four beating up on Hulk over a complete misunderstanding left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm going to try and purposely forget it exists over the next few days.

Besides that, I enjoyed seeing how Bruce / Hulk interacted with the Power Pack and seemed intent on trying to get them out of harm's way even though they clearly feel they can handle themselves and probably could.

Each of the Pack have endearing personalities and realistic behavior as siblings and while I hadn't really heard of them previously I probably will read more comics involving them.
emotional tense fast-paced
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I'm currently sitting on the floor with a blanket over my head trying to shield myself from how depressed this comic made me, but to no avail.

I can't even form an opinion on whether the issues were well written, I am now a shell of my former self. I have no critiquing energy left.

Marvel should expect an emotional distress lawsuit from me in the coming months since this has effectively robbed me of my will to live.

Honestly this volume was so boring I can't remember most of it and I was live-tweeting the entire thing so I think that says a lot.

The 'curing' of the most dangerous gamma mutants was wrapped up dryly, though I am glad Ross finally got what his horrible self deserved.

The whole Doc Green mess isn't really resolved, which may be the fault of an early cancellation and not the writer but it still left me feeling extremely unsatisfied after finishing this series all afternoon.
