Although I enjoyed the start of this book, I didn't feel up to finishing it right now. I will definitely pick it up again some other time.

Quit reading because the book's tone and aggressive stigmatization of individuals with borderline personality disorder was distressing and confusing. Why propose that there are only two types of separately dysfunctional people who have borderline personality disorder when also stating that black and white thinking is a symptom of the disorder? Outdated and unhelpful. 

Quit reading because of lack of focus. I doubt I will continue the book because its descriptions of war criminals are so far removed from what I wanted to know about trauma in order to apply it to myself and my own settings. The author also seemed uncomfortably self-absorbed. 

Quit reading because of lack of motivation. Did not get far enough in the book to determine if I liked it or not. 

Quit reading because of lack of relevancy to my current job duties. The ideas within the book did seem interesting though. 

Too brainfoggy to finish this before my library hold is up, but I will try a second time.

Quit reading for now because of brain fogginess, but will continue at a later date.

Really not liking the way it characterizes child misbehavior and mental institutions right now. May try to read it again with more of an open mind some other time. 

While I started this book excited about its potential, I soon ran out of motivation to continue it. The writing style is more of a long form poem than a novel, with most passages vague and disjointed. The author seems impressively well read, but many of her philosophical references went over my head and diminished my interest in attempting to finish the book. I may try to read it again some other time if I ever feel I've developed the focus required to get through it.
