If I could give this 3 1/2 stars on goodreads I would. There was just a bit missing. Not sure what. I felt it got slow, it was trying to do too much in a relatively short amount of pages. But, then I did enjoy the sentiment. The hardships both Doris and Jenny have gone through in their lives. They have both been through so so much and still love and want to be loved.
Strong characters add power to this romance novel. Rhi knows what she wants from a relationship and her career. When Samson walks into both she thinks she has all the answers, but she has to learn to trust herself and more than her inner circle to get what she wants. I enjoyed the story and characters. Not sure I could relate to either lead, I think I liked the side characters more.
How do you figure out who you are when one of your parents is the most famous singer in the world? Dizzy and Lou live with their Dad above his record store. Dizzy at only 15 is becoming a well known DJ. But Dizzy and Lou share a secret, their Mom is the Georgia Waters! I enjoyed this coming if age story. I loved how music played such an important part of their lives. The author captured teen feelings perfectly.
Super quick, super steamy, but with enough side story that it's not all about the sex. Enjoyable, definitely checking out the next in the series.
Eh, that is how I feel about this one. I read the whole thing, which says a lot about my current reading habits. But, I only did so because I wanted to see some growth, some insight, some change from the characters. The story is pretty popular, sadly, now days. And this work didn't make it more juicy or more interesting to read. There really was no story. It read like a news broadcast most of the time, which made it not so interesting. Again, my pace in reading it was lacking because of this. I wish it had been more interesting, more juicy, because then it might have taken off and then it might have been that type of book we WANT others to read because this subject matter is so very, very important.
A very interesting historical account of the life of Winston Churchill's mother, Jennie Jerome. I knew nothing of her or of his upbringing. I certainly knew nothing about his father. Wish I had. Anyways, while I enjoyed this book and I very much enjoyed learning new characters, this book was a bore. I slogged through it. Ugh, even skipping parts to just get to the story.
This title is just downright silly. I do love me some silliness. But halfway through this romance I got bored. Big time bored. The plot then took a turn towards super silly and crazy predictable. Even though I liked MOST of the characters, I found Jen the main character too needy and controlling, I started skipping full on pages. I enjoyed Lydia, Jakob, Max and Annie. But come on, Jen was a bore. Lydia most definitely should have been the main character. Give her more pages! Give her more of a plot. I finished this silliness. But I think I'll be skipping the next one.
