Pretty standard YA. I enjoyed the concept, but wish it was a bit more difficult to figure everything out. Found it very predictable.

Really loved this one.
Appreciated the parallels about racism, thought it added extra weight to the novel. And I thought it had a strong ending.
Also really liked the way Pippa's disability was addressed/not addressed. Was a really nice way to show Pippa was so much more than her physical circumstances.

A book full of annoying and nasty characters, with almost no redeeming qualities. Sometimes I like unlikeable main characters, but not in this case.
I was also so confused for a lot of the book - mainly due to there being two generations with the same names, and everyone being related.
And cousin on cousin romance rubs me the wrong way. Didn't see this as a romantic book in any sense.
I did enjoy the writing style though, so that's one positive.
