An important read. If you don't work in tech or don't know much about it, you'll still find this book fascinating. Well-written, well-researched, and enjoyable (albeit feminist rage-inducing).
I cried at least a dozen times. We didn’t deserve this family in the White House. I am still floored by the level of intention and compassion that went into every single decision Michelle Obama made. This book was an honor to read.
This is a beautiful collection of vibrant stories. Chai brilliantly conveys depth in succinct, poetic sentences.
I was incredibly impressed by the breadth of this book. It goes well beyond the usual, privileged trope of "JUST LOVE YOURSELF OK?!" to include intersectional context for how and why body shame is so invasive and how to combat it. An excellent read that could've easily been much longer!
If you like The Biz Chix podcast with Natalie Eckdahl, you'll probably love this book. It brings together all of her experience and advice for an easy-to-read digest. Is it much different than other business/professional/personal development books out there? Not really. Think of it like a CliffsNotes version of Mindset by Carol Dweck written by a voice you trust.
