This was a fun read! I found Bianca to be a pretty relatable teen narrator, in terms of her attempts to be pragmatic and actually ending up pretty bitter? I also thought this love triangle scenario worked pretty well and I liked the ~lessons learned~ about friendship and body positivity. (I haven't seen the movie yet but from what I hear, the movie lost a lot of that, which is a real bummer.)
All the family, school, and relationship drama wrapped up pretty neatly and happily--a nice way for the book to end, if slightly incredulity straining? But overall, a very enjoyable teen romantic dramedy.

Ahh this was so great!! I had heard that it was so great and I was SECRETLY SKEPTICAL because it is about basketball. But guess what: it's so great and I cried a whole bunch at it.
A great diverse read that should appeal to a whole range of readers (and that should ensnare even readers who don't find it appealing from the initial description, eg me).

Ahh gosh, this was just so heartbreakingly sweet and bittersweet. I think so many kids will relate to Albie's struggles with school and the knowledge that he's not meeting his expectations. The book is great at showing the unfairness of his situation without dwelling on it? OH, I don't even know how to describe this one really, just top-notch realistic fiction.
Read as single issues. I have nothing to say about this book that hasn't been said a million times already. IT'S SO GREAT.
ahh I LOVE this series and I loved this backstory for Levana. it's so sad and unsettling. It kind of humanizes Levana, but also... alienizes her. Yes.
Also I'd kind of forgotten some of the details of the previous books so this was a good recap of a few key plot points. I'm still so impressed by how Meyer keeps the core of all these fairy tales while doing so much cool world building without getting dragged down into boring stuff. SO IMPRESSIVE! <3

SO GREAT, oh my gosh. I know I'm a little late to the game here (at least in terms of the librarysphere), so I'm really just joining a chorus of people raving about it. But it's so good! So funny and realistic and dealing with a lot of issues in an organic way. I especially loved Gabi's zine <3
There's some stuff in here I liked very much, mainly Wolverine and Kitty's road trip, obviously.
There's some stuff I just didn't really care about but that others would probably like, like all this samurai stuff. (It's hard to be a Wolverine fan who just really does not give a shit about samurai stuff.)
Also there's a sentient virus and evil accupuncture??? idk... it was fine.

THIS BOOK STRESSED ME OUT SO MUCH OMG
I read it all in one day. Also I skimmed a lot of the math. There were a lot of equations in this book? Also I'm not really into space? Also surival/adventure stories tend to give me suicidal urges? basically what I'm saying is that I am not the target audience for this book and I probably wouldn't have picked this up if it hadn't been so talked up.
But I really enjoyed it! It's very funny in places, with a great cast of characters. It's a definite page-turner. I think people who are more interested in hard sci-fi, or just astronauts/space/whatever would really enjoy all the details in here (which are apparently pretty realistic, given Weir's scientific background).

This is much weirder and darker than I thought it would be?

Wolverine and the X-Men, Vol. 2: Death of Wolverine
Jason Latour, Robbi Rodriguez, Kris Anka, Jim Rugg, James Harren
I read all the Death of Wolverine stuff in a really weird order, I think, but I liked this one pretty well. The second half of it--everyone sharing their memories of Wolverine--was really what I wanted out of all this.
Also, Quentin Quire's X-Men cosplay birthday party made me LOL.
