I enjoyed this. I was jumping in a little blind--I'm not a big reader of Captain America comics but I liked Sam Wilson from the movies so I picked this up and was clearly in the middle of some Marvel Universe shit? I followed it OK, I liked Sam's sense of humor, I loved Misty Knight, I loved Captain America helping out immigrants & the tribute paid to those who help immigrants with water & supplies in the desert. The animal-human hybrid genetics experiment plot was...bonkers...even by Marvel standards? But pretty fun!

This was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed this team lineup! I like seeing some of the younger heroes--Ms. Marvel, Nova, Miles Morales--getting some play. The plot was...honestly I already kind of forgot the plot and I read it like two days ago. Deception, fake betrayal, blackmail, something?? It was fun, though!

This was legit-LOL hilarious and everything I wanted it to be. If you're a fan of Acker & Blacker but not usually sold on Deadpool and/or Gambit I definitely think there's enough of their sensibility in here to make this worth your while. If, like me, you love Deadpool AND Gambit AND Acker AND Blacker, CONGRATULATIONS, THE SECRET WORKS.

First of all the Squirrel Girl crossover issue is A+++++ 500 stars out of 5, oh my godddd

Second of all I'm generally very :/ about the big ~crossover events~ so I was happy that this arc mostly sidestepped whatever was going on with Civil War II and basically just focused on Laura and Gabby and Old Man Logan's emotional well-being, this is EVERYTHING I WANT FROM COMICS AND ALSO AN ACTUAL WOLVERINE NAMED JONATHAN

Spoilerand THANK GOD Jonathan the Wolverine is FINE I was very upset when it looked like otherwise

I think I actually read this last year and apparently never put it in GoodReads? But for the record.....it was great and I love Kamala 4eva

love itttt, I've always loved Laura Kinney as a character and she's so badass as Wolverine. This is a really moving and great story arc about clones and agency and being the worst there is at what you do. Also I love Laura's...friendship?...with Stephen Strange, like, what a weird combination of characters please give me more of it. Also her flashback/memories with Logan-Wolverine are great for my Adopted Dad Logan-loving soul.

It's been awhile since I read the X-23 books so when I got to the end of issue 6 I was like, this seems like a significant reveal but I don't remember what this means so I had to google it. But that's fine, that's what Google/comics websites are for. Anyway! Ahh! So great, will definitely keep reading!

OK, once this whole series is over, I'm definitely going to have to re-read the whole thing close together because every time I pick up a new volume I'm like wait, what is going on? and I have to read Wikipedia summaries.

Still, once I got back into the groove I really enjoyed it.

uh...that's all, I guess I don't have anything deep to say about it

this is all so precious and I'm so happy for Laura's personal growth?? and also for Gabby and Jonathan and the pelican statue.

It was kind of a bummer reading this right after [book:X-Men: Season One|13070942], which reminded me how much I like the X-characters and how you can tell a great story with them in a relatively simple way. This is like...the opposite of that? I still like these characters a lot (uh, not that these are the same set of characters from Season One but like, in general, I like most of the X-characters), but goddamn there is a lot going on. Oof.

*lies down on the floor* Like half this book is about 4 characters with whom I am barely familiar, in an alternate future world? And I just...had trouble caring.

I DID like Illyana and Sapna, and also Old Man Logan's interactions with Kurt, Ororo, and Jean though. I hope this series can get back to like...a present day...normal...ish...something? I mean, you know, X-Men normal? This is just like, too much for me.
