Where do I even start? Was this good? Yes. Was this great? In my opinion, no. It was entertaining (as awful as that sounds considering the premise of the book) but the ending was inconclusive. Which is something I am not on board with! 3 stars does not mean this was bad, but I won't ever go back to this or really think about it in the future. Still worth a one time read.

This book was definitely not what I was expecting. I enjoyed it so much though.

Our main character, Sky, is so quirky and stubborn that she slightly reminds me of myself. I loved her more and more throughout the book.
Each character was unique even though we didn't have much time with them.

The concept was unique and was also very fast paced. I would have loved to stay in this world longer, but with all the talk of food, it probably would have made me hungry.

I actually like that it is shorter. It's a nice quick read, and I think this would be great for getting out of a reading slump too.

Oh this book... I was very disappointed and had much higher hope for it.

Pros:
Beautiful writing
Good idea

Cons:
Instalove
Poorly executed
Lack of world building
A lot of confusion (from the lack of world building)

So Margaret's writing was really beautiful. But the book had such a lack of world building that it made the story fall so flat. This could have been an INCREDIBLE book, but instead dove head first into "let's make these characters fall in love and do random stupid things that make no sense." You can quote me on that if you like. Unfortunately I would not recommend this book. I kept putting it down because it was so disinreresting and I was hoping it would get better. I'm giving the author 5 stars for how she writes, because she is very poetic. I give the story itself 1 star bringing us to my 3 star rating.

4.5 stars for this one. What a whirlwind of emotions for this! Oh my goodness! Many twists and turns. I knew there was definitely a lot going on in this book, and I was trying to figure out what it was going to be the whole time, but what it boils down to is that I didn't see the twists that Sara Holland spun on me.

The story telling was beautiful in my opinion. The relationships were truly amazing as well. I want more of Jules, and who knows how long I have to wait until the next book comes out.

This was definitely a unique idea for a story that I think was executed very well.

4.5 stars!!
I will admit, the first half feels slow. There is a lot of world building that was needed, so this was the reason for that. But oh.my.goodness. Let me tell you about this book! I am in LOVE with the Witchlands. Everything about it is phenomenal and Susan Dennard is a very skilled writer. This world feels so immersive, and despite all the war and fighting, I really want to live in a world with a giant sea fox and a giant mountain bat. Call me crazy, but this all sounds amazing. And who wouldn't want to be a witch and have powers??

I see why everyone calls him Baeduan though! Ooooohhhhh I am in love.

And of course, the best part is still the friendship. While Safi and Iseult are not together in this book, the friendship is still strong. It's beautiful how Threadsisters are trying to come back together and really be there for each other. This will always be my favorite part!!

All I can say is... WOW! This book completely blew me away. While I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books and the novella, Susan Dennard really did something remarkable with Bloodwitch. I felt so much more involved with the characters and with the story. It was nice to focus so much on Aeduan and really learn more about him. We also keep up with all of the other characters that we have grown to know and love in this series.

Oh oh! And the stemming relationship between Aeduan and (you know who, hiding for spoiler reasons) is KILLING ME!!! I NEED THEM FOREVER!

And the ending shakes you to your core! It will leave you not wanting to wait for more at all! But alas, we have to wait for the book to even have a title!! This is such an intricate, expansive, and beautiful world. I highly suggest everyone read this series because it will not disappoint you!

So this book really threw me for a loop! I was totally expecting to like it, which I did. The whole time you are following our main character, a princess who runs away because she does not want to get married strictly for political reasons. On her journey, there is an assassin that was sent after her and her betrothed is trying to find her. You don't know until close to the end which is which and that blew my mind. I love it though! Strong female lead, a little bit of magic, and an awesome friendship! Can't wait to keep reading!

This series is like magic. I listened to the audiobook again for this one. While I was listening to it I constantly found myself saying outloud "oh my goodness this isn't happening. No they didn't!!! WHY?!?!"
At this point, I will never be able to recommend this book enough. It is so well constructed and beautiful. I am beyond attached to the characters. I need to start Obsidio ASAP.

This was an absolutely epic conclusion to a fascinating series!! Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman really created something wonderful and created amazing characters with the Illuminae series!
