I've made a new best friend 👭🏽
Listening to Becoming via @audible has been pure joy. Her warmth, sincerity and strength of character has won me over. You know that classic question if you had a dinner party and could add someone famous to the guest list who would you invite? Well, hands down Mich and Barack would be most welcome at my table, they would make fantastic guests! ----------------------------------------------------------
What a role model for female empowerment! She inspires me. From her humble working-class upbringing to their journey into the White House and beyond she captivated my mind. A remarkable, relatable woman. Authentic, sincere and open.
I'm seriously curious about heading to Chicago, venturing South Side and visiting restaurants she and Obama dined at during their courtship and early marriage. I would have loved to meet her parents and dear Grandparents Dandy and Southside!
I am planning to purchase a hardback copy of this book. I just know I can devour it page by page again in the future and I've no doubt I'll enjoy it as if reading it for the first time or as if catching up with a bestie after a long time. After all, I've just claimed Mich as my new bestie remember! 🤣

Superbly written. Thought provoking and educating at the same time. Knowledge is power, ignorance intolerable. Open your hearts and mind. A delightful metaphoric read. Love WINS.

I will start by saying I enjoyed the twist at the end.

However I must say I spent most of the novel irritated by the scenario author Paula was playing out for the main characters husband and wife Leon and Jane. Considering that I am someone who is highly lead by emotions I was very surprised that I did not emphasize with either of the two main characters at all. I just did not connect with them.

In summary, It's a good quick read, ideal for your summer holidays.
