This is the second time I have read this book and I love it just as much.

Mellows is an extremely gifted writer. 

She had me captivated at every single page/chapter.

I adored the wit throughout the book.

I enjoyed the unraveled, complexities she explored in the relationship between Cleo and Frank.

She tackled many themes confidenly and with sensitivity.

The description of excrement made it an immediate hard stop for me. 

I do not want to visualise that when listening to an audiobook.

A brutall honest memior,  one could argue possibly too honest and detailed to the point that it has negatively impacted my opinions of Rick. 

I found the early years most enjoyable. 

I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook and the narrators storytelling.
The book surprised me the main character Alice was one feirce female. 

Flawed characters.  Bold and unhinged.  I love them. 

A great character driven historical fiction read.
