In love with everything about this book. And somehow I seem to fall more and more in love with it after each time reading it.
Wow oh wow. This book completely gripped me from start to end. Dark, fascinating, eerie yet with perfectly injected humour, this was a perfect read. I just wish the ending had been a bit, I don't know, more? Nevertheless, this book has well and truly earned 5/5 stars and is easily one of my favourites.
Is this actually someone's real life?????? How??? Whilst there were some funny moments in this book, overall it's far from that. It's dark, disturbing, shocking. It's a fantastic read if this is the kind of thing you're into.
Wow yes thank you. I'm blessed. This book is a blessing. It's the most incredible work of art
Oh my god oh my GOD this book is a wonder, it's incredible and it's everything good in the world. I loved it. I never wanted this to end
It starts like any other cliche YA or romance novel - a guy and a girl meet in a book store, obviously the girl is different to any other, and obviously there's an instant connection. And that's where any similarities with romance books ends. The rest of the book twists and turns through the darkest parts of the most messed up persons mind.
The times they accidentally bump into each other, the things they have in common, almost as if they're made for each other but all carefully orchestrated by Joe who knows everything about Beck thanks to the wonderful creation known as the internet. If you lose your phone, get that shit locked down. Change your passwords, cancel your contract, the lot. You never know.
I found myself almost starting to sympathise with Joe at times. He has fantastic wit and almost captivating intelligence that really would make him an amazing guy if he wasn't such an absolute psychopath. Every action is justified as romantic in some way or brushed off like it's no big deal and he really is convincing at times. The thing is, you're constantly aware of how sick and twisted he is, but I STILL found myself almost rooting for him, almost wishing it all ended well for him in the end.
I also (insanely) found myself liking Joe more than Beck. He clearly saw her through rose tinted glasses (mixed with a hint of his own crazy blindness) but thankfully I don't have the same issues as Joe and I could see right through her and oh boy, I did noooot like what I saw. She treated everyone around her awfully and only thought of herself. Joe liked what he saw, and that wasn't very much. He's also very good at justifying the bad in people that he cares about.
The fact that this book was written in present tense made me feel like I was REALLY experiencing this book. I felt like I was going on the journey with sick, twisted Joe and whiny, terrible Beck and that's just one of many things that makes this book so special.
Not quite a psychological thriller, clearly not quite a romance, but a weird, messed up combination of that mixed with something completely original altogether.

This book is magical. It’s supposed to be about this epic contest between the students of two rival magicians but that was almost completely irrelevant to me.
It wasn’t really the plot itself that I enjoyed, but the whole vibe and atmosphere of the book. And although I wasn't too bothered about the main plot, I liked the subplots, especially that of Poppet and Widget. They're definitely my favourite characters and I love everything they're a part of.
I finished it and instantly wanted to read it again. I never want to leave that world, that circus! This book is so beautiful and wonderful that you can’t help but want to live in it. You want to know every in and out of the circus, every tent, every corner. The circus draws you in. The descriptions make you feel like you’re really there, experiencing it for yourself. I love this book. I love this world.
Just call me a rêveur.

Night Film. Night. Film. Yes. Yes yes and YES. This is everything I never knew I wanted rolled into one book.
So many twists and turns, and I found the path it went down to be extremely unexpected.
The images and articles used were great visual aids and I LOVED the app. It really helped me to fully immerse myself in this book. Having those little voice clips, or movie posters, or songs to go with the book was fantastic and brought everything to life even more.
I was left searching after this book, and questioning a lot. It really sucks you in, throws you around and spits you out a different person. At least that's what happened to me.

Spoiler
Just as I was wrapping my head around the witchcraft aspect (I don't really believe in that stuff, but I really believed in this book) the rug was pulled right out from under your feet. And just as your readjusting to the real world, the floor drops right out from under you. That's really the only way I can describe the ending of this book. The images and articles used were great visual aids and I LOVED the app. It really helped me to fully immerse myself in this book.
