THAT. ENDING. I thought I saw it coming but then oh no, it completely veered off in a direction I never expected.
I'm not usually a fan of the memory loss angle with any sort of mystery thriller but this was written so well that I couldn't help but love it. Definitely an instant where it benefitted the plot rather than seeming like lazy/unoriginal writing.
An absolutely incredibly written mystery thriller. I couldn't put this down when I really started to get into it. I'm gonna be recommending this to anyone and everyone now. Wow
(I'll write a better review when I get a minute to sit at my laptop)

I don't know if I just didn't "get" this book but it was incredibly dull and didn't leave much of an impression on me at all
Chilling. Horrifying. Utterly disturbing. No amount of words could properly describe the feeling I had reading this book, like something ominous was pressing down, or something unknown brushing the back of my neck. To mix an almost poetic style with such brutal actions had me completely hooked and made it all the more twisted. I really can't explain why I liked this so much when I expected to have to put the book down out of sheer disgust.
This was a great read. Sat in a tent, in front of a campfire in the middle of nowhere, I devoured this book in a night. It was perfectly paced, with the right balance of creepiness and confusion. The end took me by surprise despite the many clues hidden throughout the book. I just wasn't quick enough to piece this one together. It's nice to be on a level with the detective - finding out what they know when they know it makes you really feel like you're there alongside it all.
A bit of a slow start but gripping once I got into it. The end kind of had me wanting more, almost like it didn't fully satisfy me (better review to follow) (maybe)
Well.. I'm confused. It started off so strong and I did actually like the end but.... what? What happened? It fell so flat in the middle and was so painfully predictable. The inclusion of her novel was a drag to be honest and there was a whole lot of nothing going on for most of the book. But still. The start and the end were very good and some of the writing was beautiful
Torn between 3 and 4 stars. I did feel like this book kinda went off on tangents and the pace was a little ok the slow side. Then you had the end which was suddenly so so rushed and abrupt and didn't really match the tone of the rest of the book imo. That being said, I was very intrigued and gripped by this and when I hit around the 2/3 mark I didn't want to put it down. I loved the characters and really found myself rooting for the team. It did get kinda frustrating when Mia had a "block" or whatever stopping her from seeing the full picture - to me this was overused and unnecessary. Mixed feelings overall but I did enjoy it as a whole
