Really lacking in the wow factor for me, and just came off as very mundane. Didn’t even have the drama that I love (and expect) from my slow burn thrillers.
Bookish and awkward Lily Greene is tired of her sisters trying to set her up with men, so when she meets her hot new neighbor Nick and starts spending time with him (and falling for him at the same time), she hopes her sisters will finally get off her back. But, it turns out her and Nick already have a past…and he’s not being entirely truthful with Lily.
FIVE GLORIOUS STARS for THE NEIGHBOR FAVOR by Kristina Forest! This contemporary romance was perfect for my bookish NYC meet cute-loving heart!
Both of our main characters work in the book industry (LOVE), spend time exploring the city of New York (double love), and unknowingly spend months sending emails to each other (SWOON). There was just so much about this book that had me smiling ear to ear, and I think a lot of other readers are going to fall head over heels for Nick and Lily!
Huge thanks to NetGalley, Berkley Publishing, and Berkley Romance for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Every Rachel Hawkins book I've read has been vastly different from the last, so it was a real treat diving into this one.
The multiple timelines and stories were intriguing and I loved the common elements that carried over. There were times (especially in the beginning) when I had a hard time keeping the characters and timelines separate because they were so similar, BUT I got there in the end.
I will say the ending took some of the wow factor away for me and I felt a tad betrayed by Hawkins.

I had a lot of doubts about this one in the first half - the writing felt stilted, it seemed like sooo many thriller books I’ve already read - then shit hit the fan.
While I really enjoyed the course this book took, it was A LOT with a lot of unanswered questions for a 250 page book.

WOW. I was really nervous to pick this one up because I have a strong aversion to “Groundhog Day”-esque books, but this one proved to be extremely different when it came to the time loop aspect!
This one was wild and constantly had me guessing. For a nearly 400-page book, I devoured it. I also have the biggest soft spot for the character of Andy after reading this 🖤
So glad I picked this one up!

I feel…off…about the way this book was written. The victims were often described in a negative light and there wasn’t much in terms of an actual investigation.
It’s easy to understand how this book has received mixed reviews, and I’m a bit intrigued to read more of this author’s investigative writing just to see if it all comes down to the inclusion of sex work…
