Overall, I really enjoyed this one.

The multiple POVs, characters, and ~problems~ all added up to a quick-paced, drama-filled read!

Such a well-rounded collection of short stories!

There were so many stories in this collection that I wish were made into full-length novels because I need more answers 😂 but I’ll definitely have my eyes peeled for the future work these authors have in store for us!

Also, Circe really brings this whole series home by finishing off with a short of her own that managed to bring about both holiday spirit and the end of the world as we know it.

Really enjoyed the premise of this one (my first Darcy in the books!!)

It was a bit slow and chunky for my taste, but such a great story regardless!

I love that we’re taken back into the world of Sherlock Holmes (from Watson’s POV), but I found myself extremely disinterested in the Flat Cap Gang.

I was waffling between three and four stars on this one, but I think this is where I’m settling in.

So glad we got more time with Rhiannon and loved meeting Sloane and Aaric!! The dragons seemed to take more of a back seat in this one, but I loved it when they made an appearance.

Now for some of my not-so-favorite things:

This book was way too long (and I’m a bit concerned where the rest of this series really has to go based on everything that has already happened up to this point!)

Is that really the entire arc we’re going to get for General Sorrengail?!?! Like, come on!! She was absolutely evil in the first book and now we’re supposed to feel sad about her?? Even Dain managed to have more development!

The steamy scenes were not it. And the fact that they happened at the most dramatic times (people dying, “we’re about to be attacked”) really just made me want to skim through them more. And maybe it was just the length of the book, but the lovey dovey-ness of it all also got a bit annoying.

The ending was expected, but also felt a bit rushed in terms of, WE HAVE THREE MORE BOOKS TO GO!!

Very different from the other Nesbø I’ve read (THE SON) and I honestly had quite a bit of fun with this one!

Part one was easily my favorite and the eeriest (the story seemed a bit meandering in the other parts), but overall really intrigued by where the story went!

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed!

It’s a multimedia format (obsessed) and follows a crime junkie teen whose classmate finds herself in the middle of a headline case (a very intriguing premise!!)

I think I would have liked this more if the characters were older and there was a bit more depth to them (don’t get me wrong, they’ve got some heavy backstory stuff going on for them, but it just never felt fully fleshed out)

Definitely a quick read!

I really enjoyed this one! It’s a quick read at 240 pages and the multiple POVs kept the pace going!

With it being so short, I did feel like there were some loose threads that weren’t fully fleshed out, but overall, a great read for fans of thrillers and libraries!

Definitely a fun book in the vein of The Inheritance Games, but felt very YA at times with a bit of a Scooby Doo element when it came to the villain.

With that being said, I’m very much still excited for this to maybe become a series???

An intriguing premise and it had some parts that I really enjoyed, but I couldn’t fully vibe with the writing style.
