Simone St. James is back with a creepy gothic ghost story that will have you flipping pages!

MURDER ROAD has all of the best elements: set in the 90s, ghosts, hitchhikers, a small town featuring a couple teens obsessed with true crime, and two main characters with secret pasts 🤫

I could not put this one down because I needed answers immediately! Also, the brief mention of The X-Files in this one makes me REALLY want St. James to write a Mulder and Scully fic, but I digress... đź‘€

I think a lot of fans of this author are going to eat this one up!

Huge thanks to Berkley for sending me an early finished copy of this one in exchange for an honest review!

Annnnnd let the Gilmore Girls rewatch commence 🤓

When Lucy is found wandering the streets covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she killed her. However, with no memory of that night, Lucy doesn’t know for sure. When a true crime podcast, “Listen for the Lie” decides to dive into Savvy’s death for their next season, Lucy finds herself returning to her hometown to get answers and her memory back.

LISTEN FOR THE LIE by Amy Tintera was just as good as everyone has been saying it is!

Our main girl, Lucy, is sarcastic as all heck and made it so fun to read and relate to her character! The podcast element was also really well done and gives the reader a chance to get to know all of the various people who live in town.

The mystery was intriguing and the side characters were great to hang out with, too (I’m looking at you, grandma Bev!!)

This is me hoping Amy decides to write more adult thrillers 🤞

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Celadon for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Libro.fm for an ALC of this one!

This audio original is short, but packs a major punch. It's dark and intense and an important thriller based on content alone.

The story and narrator immediately hooked me in and never let up! This is one I’ll be thinking about for a while.

Huge thanks to St. Martin's press for sending me an ARC of this one in exchange for an honest review -  this book publishes on March 5!

WOW. It's been a while since I've been so enthralled by a domestic suspense, but this one had me in a chokehold.

We alternate POVs between our two main characters, Cassies and Billie, and also jump around timeline-wise, which made the suspense even more enticing.

I loved how Lovering explored the darkness and evolution of childhood friendships in this book as it made for some fantastic imagery!

Will definitely be picking up more of her work in the future!

Finlay and Vero find themselves on a chaotic road trip to Atlantic City in the search for Javi and a stolen car in this next installment of the FINLAY DONOVAN series!

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE by Elle Cosimano is the fourth book in the series and picks up where the previous one left off.

It took a bit for me to remember where we last saw our characters, but once that was all settled, I found myself once again enjoying Finlay and Vero’s shenanigans!

Adding Steven, the kids, Finlay’s mom (and some more surprise guests 👀) to their adventure made it all the more fun and chaotic and the backdrop of a casino put our characters into some interesting situations.

A fun continuation for this series that will leave Finlay fans satisfied!

This one unfortunately wasn't a standout for me when it comes to Unger's work. While I normally love a thriller set in New York, the details that stood out to me in this one were focused on the dangers of the city, which gave me a bit of an ick. The ghost and medium aspects also didn't fully do it for me...

I will say, the uneasiness throughout was very present and the looming presence of the Windermere (what initially drew me to the plot and I wish there was more of!!) added a nice gothic feel.

A fine read, but one that will slip from my mind pretty quickly.

I get why this book has been described as literary horror because this story was such a beautiful way to depict grief.

I didn’t expect to fall for this little monster the way that I did and the multiple points of view really added an extra look at what everyone was going through and how they were also experiencing Monstrilio’s growth at the same time.

Definitely a book that will sit with me for a while and has Gerardo high on my radar!!

DID NOT FINISH: 11%

Too slow of a pace for what I’m in the mood for right now.

I was not prepared for the cute lil ✨romance✨ in this one, but this intro to Tommy and Tuppence instantly made me fall in love with them!

Having only read one other T&T book (out of order, how dare I???) i found the chaos and mystery in this one to be satisfying!
