This was my first Stephen King book, and I absolutely loved it.
The only thing that I could use to describe it would be a mix of Labyrinth, The Neverending Story and Dark Crystal with a sprinkling of goblins and that classic Stephen King horror.

This was the perfect sweet hometown high school romance.
Amazing 80’s rom com vibes.
Honeybell is truly my favorite sunshine side character who keeps everyone honest about how they feel.

Hades, Meg and Hercules… Not what I would expect for a throuple, but I’m not mad at it.
The story was ok, not really picking up until the last few chapters; but the spice was top tier, had me begging for more after every turn.

This was the most amazing and sweet and steamy romance I’ve ever read.
Elle and Darcy are horrible when it comes to fake dating, because they both (whether they want to admit it or not) have personalities where they fall in love WAY too fast; just like what happened here.
It was a relationship of convenience, and would have been perfectly fine, IF they didn’t kiss.

As an openly bisexual woman who was raised Christian; I have had an extremely difficult time with my faith as well as my sexuality (it also didn’t help that I grew up in the purity culture generation).
After reading this, I still struggle with my faith for other reasons, but my sexuality isn’t a big one anymore. It’s nice to know that there is someone who went through similar struggles like me (though Julie’s were definitely more intense).

Wow. Just wow! I really wasn’t a huge Aladdin fan growing up but after reading this I will see Jasmine in a different light. She’s fierce and independent and wants to take control of her own life instead of having men control it for her; exactly what we all what, isn’t it?

Pirates are not typically my cup of tea; however, I am so glad that I read this. It is a quick and easy read (even though it took me so long to read it; thanks to a new job, and a move and losing my books for a week or so). Highly recommend to anyone who is just wanting something new and refreshing and easy to read through.

Though this was written in 1998, it reads as if it were written in today’s society.
I don’t usually read books that have such a strong political presence, but Luke’s story is one I’m glad I have read and will continue to read throughout the series.

Really good story, however, I think it should be more geared toward middle-grade readers. The twist came at the very end and then everything was just really rushed.
For middle-graders who are just getting started in the horror and thriller genre, I think this is a great start and would recommend it.
