Such a cute holiday novella. Nothing super special about it other than seeing the bonds between the inner circle strength.

I didn't know I needed a book like Survivor, but here we are. A Little on the nose sometimes, and too dramatic for my taste but still a really good story and great writing. Really makes you think about what you would do in the worst circumstances.

The story is great, and I was able to get sucked in really quickly and invested in the characters and setting. Gives WWII vibes, but fantasy. The only reason I started to not like it was the ending, it just seemed too rushed and could have been written better.

At the beginning of the story I just felt like I was missing something, like this was the 2nd book in a series or something. But as I went along and realized that the story goes back and forth in time it began to clear up a lot more. Fantastic story, similar to Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens but a million times better.

Took me a little while to get into the story but once you’re in, you’re IN!
Had to take away a star though because the largest character flaw is the fact that Anna is “delusional” because she’s an agoraphobe and is an alcoholic.

By the middle you can get an idea of what happened to Grace, but there’s still plenty of twists that keep you on the edge of your seat.
Really puts into perspective who you want to be around your kids.
