Re-read for the sequel so I could remember everything.
Even though it was a re-read the emotions were still there and still raw. Absolutely loved being able to pinpoint certain things that were foreshadowing, even though I didn’t realize it the first time around.

Carrie, set in a small town in Georgia where racism is rampant and widely accepted, yet ignored.
Really enjoyed this story even though it made me furious and incredibly sad because of how Maddie was treated.

Alan Gratz is amazing.
Telling stories based on real events from multiple points of view (even though time and distance) and tying everything together.
Heart wrenching storytelling that sucks you in and makes you feel.

An amazing final game to finish off the series, I know there’s another book, but this one felt like the end of the story, at least for now. 

Avery is such an amazing character and I’m so happy to have experienced, even fictionally, what I would do if I was given billions of dollars.

Just didn't keep my attention

This year my husband and I lost his mother; she was a lot younger than we were expecting and therefore did not think to “death clean.” After spending the last 6 months, alongside my siblings-in-law, going through her stuff and finances and everything she left behind, this book actually gave me some peace. A very short read, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is dealing with a loved one who may not be here much longer. It can be sad to think about, but in the long run it can be helpful. 

This series is easily becoming one of my favorite reads the more I go through it. I love these characters and the plot is fantastic. Gives Dynasty vibes very much but adding the puzzles and intrigue of Clue.

CSI but in book form. This is an amazing story, set up like a podcast; and slightly interactive. 

There's evidence forms, maps, timelines, texts, emails and discussion threads throughout the book and I just LOVED it! 

If Cara ever writes more books like this, or any author for that matter, it will definitely be a must read! 

 Absolutely hilarious murder-mystery story with an amazing three generation female relationship that reminded me a lot of Emily, Lorelai and Rory from Gilmore Girls. 

 Knives Out meets Clue; this book was undeniably remarkable and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time trying to figure out the puzzles alongside Avery and the Hawthorne brothers.
