CW: racial slurs, infidelity, police brutality

This memoir is very moving. I don't know if I would have picked it up had it not been chosen as a book club pick, but I really enjoyed learning more about Elaine's time at Teen Vogue.

One thing that bothered me about this book is the frequency with which she referred to folks as her tribe.
