I really enjoyed this one. The more I read Frieda’s books, the more they grow on me. I'm excited to see how the rest of the series plays out, and how Millie grows throughout it. These are honestly the perfect fast-paced, palate cleanser for me!

I put this off for so long because I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype. Ooooh was I WRONG! This book deserves all the hype it gets 😭 I can't wait for Reckless. I need my heart put back together after that ending. And the SNEAK PEAK?!
"I haven't found my courage yet."
Come oooonnn 🥹😭😭
The beginning was slow, but it made it super easy to digest everything. The trials were top notch, and I absolutely loved the banter between Kai and Paedyn. I fell in love with all of the characters so easily. I have such high hopes for Reckless 🫶🏻

I want to start this by saying that there is super heavy and dark mental illness rep in here. Our main girl, Estela, spirals and struggles so much with depression, grief and suicide after her parents death. It is not a one off and is throughout the entire book. Please take your mental health seriously and make sure you're ready before reading this book.
Now my thoughts! I LOVED it. I DEVOURED this absolutely amazing book. It's my first Romina Garber book and it was just *chefs kiss*
Estela's parents are killed by a "freak" accident on the Subway and she is sent to a hospital as a ward of the state. While there, she receives a letter from an estranged aunt who lives in Spain. When she arrives, weird things start to happen and she can tell everyone in this small town is hiding something. Estela quickly starts to unravel the mysteries that surround her family and childhood, only to find something so much more sinister going on. With the help of her "Shadow Beast", a man she's been seeing in her dreams, they unravel the truth while finding love in the most unexpected ways.
I loved all of the characters so much as well as the mystery. The first few pages had me immediately hooked and kept my attention throughout the whole book! There wasn't a single boring part. I felt all of the emotions. I laughed, giggled, cried SO much, felt Estela's anger and frustration.
Bast is so swoon-worthy too!😍 Like, corporeal being who shows feelings after he tried to kill me? Yes, please. He's so protective of Estela, physically and regarding her mental health doing everything he can to show her that she's not alone.
"I choose you over ... over everything."

I really enjoyed this! It was a super easy read with enough political elements to keep me interested throughout the entire book.
Candra and Nemeth are so adorable. I instantly fell in love with Nemeth and think he brings out the best in Candra. She was a little annoying at the beginning but I expected that since she was a "spoiled princess".
I'm not sure what I expected towards the end of the book, but I was NOT expecting that twist or the emotions I felt. After reading this, I have no qualms jumping into IPB.
Thank you SO much NetGalley and Ruby Dixon for this e-ARC!🫶🏻

I have so many emotions rolling through me, but the first one is angry. I'm angry that the 3rd book isn't out yet 😭 All I want is to binge this whole series.
Nightbane’s pacing is a lot like Lightlark’s. There are some slow parts in the beginning to set up for the war coming. I thought all of the characters had such great growth. More characters are introduced, characters we thought would be background become some of my main favorites, and everyone is a LOT more connected than you're led to believe.
I'm a Team Grim girlie through and through, but my heart hurt for Oro plenty throughout all of it. Isla was in a really shit position to begin with, and it doesn't get any better for my girl 🥲 She grows so much in Nightbane. Her powers as well as her leadership and maturity level.
I felt every single emotion reading this book. I laughed, cried, giggled, got my heart ripped to fucking pieces, all of it. I cannot WAIT for the next book!
I'm a sucker for fantasies that are all about ancient secrets and this series has delivered that SO amazingly. Isla is a halfling of Nightshade and Wilding? Ancient creatures RESPECT her just because of that? What does that MEAN? I need to hear other peoples theories😫 I feel so strongly that she could be some kind of major player or magic that's only been seen at Home, the original Lightlark.
I hate that she had all of her memories stripped and had to relive all of that. I still don't think Grim’s reasoning for erasing her memories was good enough. I get that he got tricked but Isla being his WIFE? Nah, dude. There's gotta be something else or that will bug me.
I hope next book we get more info on her mom and dad. I want backstory of her dad from Grim when he was a general and her mom from Lynx.
I'm dreading when she sees Poppy and Terra again. I REALLY don't like them and my girl better do some damage when she sees them.
