This was a super easy and fun read! We follow Jenny, who has been saving up to help her sister escape her abusive marriage. After a highway robber kidnaps and ransoms the child Jennys sister is tasked to nanny, she sets off to catch and turn him in to earn the reward money. Jenny learns it'll be a lot harder to catch him when he's busy trying to catch her heart🖤
I love Jenny and Adam. Their back and forth banter were adorable. They're just SO cute together and I love it🥹 Jenny's sister, Nelly, also got her justice and it ended the book on such a good note. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting an adorable, historical romance with a hint of fantasy!

This wrapped up the series so well 🥹 I loved all of it from the first book to the ending. The relationships, trials, and satisfaction of Avery getting her revenge while setting everything to rights warmed my heart SO much.

So much happens in this one. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time just to have my heart absolutely WRECKED😭 I am an absolute mess for that ending. A lot was answered, but now I just have more questions 🫠

It's been too long since I read and enjoyed a shifter book! I was a little put off at the beginning by the FMC, Avery, but that quickly turned around. I loved the pacing! There was never a dull moment. There's secrets, betrayals, great foreshadowing and the start of Avery's and Cole's relationship is just 🤌🏻
“𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕. 𝑾𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖?”
I felt like it was obvious who Avery's dream friend was so I constantly wanted to go through the pages and tell her to think😂 I loved that this was a mix of Hades & Persephone and Mythology. Majority of the book is setting up the rest of the trilogy and dropping little hints since Cole loves to keep a secret😒 I felt so bad for Avery. The girl just wants the knowledge to survive and better herself, but nearly everything is kept from her.
𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍. 𝑨 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆.
The ending is where things REALLY pick up and oh boy! I have so many unanswered questions. Between the Libra demon, Cole and Hecate's next moves, and literally everything Avery is doing right now. I'm at full stress level for her😅

This was everything I didn't know I needed😍 Fallon was incredible and i loved Kat's take no shit attitude. Their beginning was a little rocky, but the way they both soften for each other made my heart so fuzzy and full🥹

I loved the idea for a headless horseman dark romance, and it more than delivered! There were paranormal elements, lore, a big murder mystery, vengeful witches, and long kept secrets. The curse aspects were super unique and I can't wait for more from the Van Tassel Witches🖤🖤

The end. THE. ENDING?! I wanted to throw my kindle so bad when I read those last 3 lines 😭 Talk about a cliffhanger!
“𝑭𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘, 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆. 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒔.”
This is the 2nd book in the Blood Queen series, and picks up exactly where it left off in book 1. Even with everything that goes on throughout the book and the troubles that Layla and Rune have to get through, it was so refreshing for Layla to find people she could actually trust🥹 Aunt Cleo is the aunt everyone deserves. I absolutely adore her🖤

Layla and Rune's relationship developed so beautifully in this book. They're so good for each other, and I just love them. From their "hate-flirting" to their super sweet moments😍
“𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅.”
I wasn't paying attention to my percentage towards the end of the book, so "the end" came at a complete shock and I'm going to need the next book ASAP👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you SO much to the author for the gifted copy!!🥹🖤

This one was wild once it got going! I loved The Sanatorium, and had super high hopes for this one. About 75% in is when it really started to pick up for me. The first half was a little slow and there wasn't as much "uncovering" as the first.
I enjoyed that the whole team was able to be there at the beginning and that Elin had a partner in this one. It helped focus on her growth around the death of her brother Sam and as a detective.
The mystery and case itself was awesome. I was invested and constantly trying to put the pieces together. Especially towards the end when all the little e things started to fit together. I can't wait to dive into The Wilds and see what kind of case pops up on her vavcation with Isaac🔍

We pick up basically right where we left off and immediately get into the action. So much information was given and I loved the multiple POV!
“𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒐.”
Estrella goes through a lot. I just want to hug her so tight! She learns a lot as bits and pieces of her past are revealed and while trying to figure out her powers. I'm 100% Team Tristan right now❤️🔥 I feel like he's literally perfect for her. Or who she is now, at least. I'm stressing about when she gets her memories back😭🫠

We learn a lot more about the world and side characters! I loved all of the new information, characters and plotting. I really can't wait for the final book🥹 I just KNOW I'm going to be hurting😅

𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. 𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒐, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒇 𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒈 𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒐.
I was immediately hooked by the first chapter! I loved all of the historical elements, the chemistry between Patrick and Cece, and all of the revelations at the end.
"𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝑰 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒆, 𝑰'𝒎 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒏. 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚. 𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘, 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆, 𝒗𝒆𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆."
Celeste and Patrick's chemistry is top notch. They are so amazing together and the way they are just OBSESSED 😍🤌🏻 I cannot get enough of them. I was feeling a little "shake the shit" towards Cece in the middle just from all of her denial, but I totally understood it at the same time. She has her whole world flipped upside down over and over again. It was realistic for her to be in denial and eventually have it catch up to her.

The paranormal aspects were super interesting. I can't wait for more books in the series to understand more of it! The "souler" aspect has me itching for more history and information. The group of witches made my heart feel good. They're like a big group of moms who adopted Cece when she needed the guidance the most🖤

I cannot wait for Aiofe's book! I have SO many questions about how she got back, how are Patrick and Cece, and who does she meet?! I was crying by the end with how heart wrenchingly sweet and satisfying everything was🥹

I really enjoyed the overall plot. It was a little tense at times with the Wraiths (who are pretty terrifying)😅 The relationships were the best though.
