It's been too long since I read and enjoyed a shifter book! I was a little put off at the beginning by the FMC, Avery, but that quickly turned around. I loved the pacing! There was never a dull moment. There's secrets, betrayals, great foreshadowing and the start of Avery's and Cole's relationship is just 🀌🏻

I felt like it was obvious who Avery's dream friend was so I constantly wanted to go through the pages and tell her to thinkπŸ˜‚ I loved that this was a mix of Hades & Persephone and Mythology. Majority of the book is setting up the rest of the trilogy and dropping little hints since Cole loves to keep a secretπŸ˜’ I felt so bad for Avery. The girl just wants the knowledge to survive and better herself, but nearly everything is kept from her.

The ending is where things REALLY pick up and oh boy! I have so many unanswered questions. Between the Libra demon, Cole and Hecate's next moves, and literally everything Avery is doing right now. I'm at full stress level for herπŸ˜…
