After reading this book, I’m very disheartened by the sabotage it suffered pre-release. If you have been avoiding The Ones We Burn based on rumors and hearsay from the bookternet hive mind, consider giving it a chance. The complex themes and messages here are masterful and I miss the cast already. Truly, my greatest complaint is that there wasn’t a map. I’m very much looking forward to seeing Rebecca Mix grow in her evident talent.

Just not feeling it 

Strong start and loved the characters, but the end was more lackluster than expected. Would still recommend if you’re looking for older badass female characters.
