Absolutely riveting. The pinnacle of schadenfreude.

If you found The Poppy War trilogy or Babel too much of a fantasy epic to dive into, I implore you to still give Yellowface a try— it’s a fast-paced, gripping contemporary thriller that I got through in a single night and couldn’t recommend more, proving yet again why R.F. Kuang continues to be one of the best authors currently writing.

Super sweet and very horny. It was refreshing to see a romance that starts after they confess and decide to go out, and deal with all of the compromises, mistakes, and joy of a new relationship! Plus, their dynamic and the art style were both really cute. I adore pairings with gorgeous, quiet people dating horns chaos incarnate. 😂

One day I will get a young single parent manga where they aren’t just raising their dead sibling’s kid… one day I won’t lose….

I wasn’t wild about this one but if you are a boob lover, you will be thriving. The two girls are cute and the background drama is 👀. If my gf buys other volumes I will certainly be pilfering to read but other than that, I already know I’ll forget everything about this in 2 weeks or less.

Seeing that this is the author of my favorite GerIta doujin ever was the most delightful yet soul-jarring jumpscare literally ever.

I loved Camilo and Theo’s relationship and has one of my favorite tropes inside the friends-to-lover tropes* (explained below) so that was delightful to see!

Also obsessed with the way this mangaka makes skin & lips look soooo soft. Hope they never change & have the clearest skin and most watered crops possible.

I LOVE an FtoL situation where they’re kind of in a trial or one member had confessed, and the more reluctant one realizes they don’t want to go back to just being friends because that means their friend will find someone else to treat gently and love, and they realize they want it for themselves and they actually are in love. I was DELIGHTED.

I would have been totally fine with the first volume being a one-shot. Honestly, opening up the series tab to see this had four more volumes knocked an entire star off.

I found Mio to be just a little bit annoying— I felt for him, but he didn’t seem to actually grow that much when he went away with how he was behaving when he returned, and maybe it’s the asexual in me but his obsession with being a good sex partner when Shun never gave any indication that he needed or wanted that from him was a very confusing storyline. The premature ejaculation scene was funny as hell though.

I thought I was going to be safe and then literally burst into tears. 💀

The amount of pacing I did… I was laying on the cold floor in a stressed out fugue state for the last 50 pages. Cannot wait for book 3.
