Different
This was the traditional ugly ducking story yet the details were different. There was more about the life of the ugly duckling growing up than I have ever seen before. It is an interesting take on the tale.

Satire... no, alternate reality.
This was a very interesting take on the world. I was sucked in at the beginning. Pulled right along about a quarter of the way through the book. Then it just became too much detail for me. I skimmed through to the end. Where I was sucked in again. The story being from the various points of view was amusing. Overall, not bad. Yet not one I will read again. Nor would I read a sequel if there was one. Not because it is badly written, it is not, but because this kind of story is not my cup of tea.

Famine awakens to a world that has seen two horsemen... and humans are better prepared this time. Horrors abound yet kindness and decency are still to be found. Interesting twist on an apocalyptic biblical tale. Without being religion shoved down your throat. Famine tries to lay down his scythe but... Death has other plans.
Disappointed to find typeset errors. There seems to be an issue with editing for these books.

Bravo, Tom! Great writing. Good story telling. Wonderful honesty! I am happy to have read this, to have a better understanding of the person behind Draco Malfoy. This is the third memoir/diary of the Harry Potter cast that I've read and is easily the most accessible. It is broken up into well told chapters that are quick reads. This is an incredibly enjoyable book. I would highly recommend it to any Potter fans.
What a difference a decade makes!
I first read this book sometime in 2014. I loved it, I can remember swooning over the characters and quickly gobbling up each book that was available in the series. Plus eagerly waiting for each new book to be released.
Now though... I began this book on 3/29/2024 and here it is the end of May, I've made it to chapter seven. I will not be reading more. Having grown and changed over the last decade I find that I can not read this story. It's too fast, too unsafe, too pushy, just ridiculous. I am sad to have come to this conclusion on my return to the series but alas I have outgrown the tale it seems.

Death came to earth with a job to do. Like it or not he will do what he has been tasked with... end humanity and destroy the stain it has left of the world.
Lazarus has given herself a job to do. Like it or not she will succeed in her self appointed task... eliminate death and save the last of humanity.
Death and Life. Hate and Love. Pain and Pleasure. All are intertwined and knotted together.
Wonderful conclusion to an interesting series. The twist on the apocalyptic biblical tale was unique, unpredictable, and did not shove religion down your throat.

Wow! This tale wrapped its way around me and kept me ensnared through to the last page. What a fabulous first novel. I am extremely impressed by A. B. Poranek. She told a fantastic story with absolutely beautiful language used to describe everything. I laughed out loud, I turned pages faster, I audibly awww'd, and I cried. Wonderful book!
The beginning of a twisty, intriguing flip of the King Midas tale. It was quite interesting to be swept up in the story while trying to figure out what secrets were hiding amongst the snow. I enjoyed the main character and reading from her point of view. Bring inside her head is amusing at times, I both laughed and cried with her. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Golly this was cute.
Quick read for parents with kiddos. Teaches good persistence, responsibility, caring, problem solving. My kids giggled and enjoyed the whole tale, particularly the end.

While this collection of stories was interesting they did not draw me in enough to move forward into the series about these characters. Simply not my cup of tea though very well told short tales.
