funny informative inspiring medium-paced

If you are a fan of Alton's early Food Channel show, this is for you. He narrated his "essays" with that witty language we loved so much. It is not a memoir, but a collection of vignettes of his culinary journey. My favorite advise is read the recipe in full, several times.

This author writes real women with real issues. A woman feels her looks are no longer acceptable for her very public persona and this story is her journey to acceptance and body positivity. If you are a fan of older couples who are real, this book is for you. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were fantastic portraying the two POVs. The spice was really well done and appropriate for the story. If you are not a fan of spice, do yourself a favor and don't read this. You will miss a huge part of the story context. I personally, like to see real people having real relationships with all its ups and downs. This book has a touch of magic, not too much, just enough to make it magical.

This book by Andrea had a unique representation that is not often found in mainstream books, she's the reason why I read more indie authors. The way she talks about mental health, anxiety, insecurities, is one that is healthy nowadays.
I felt that while the relationship between the two MCs was important, the plot around them was more significant. I felt it dragged just a tad, it would have benefitted of redaction to remove some repetitive sections.
