The story ends abruptly, the author explains this is part one of two. Just be aware it feels incomplete because of this reason.
The characters have interesting reasons to be themselves and we see why they behave the way they do by their actions. We get insights into their sometimes complicated relationship and how self doubt plays a big role in the behavior between the two main characters.
This book would appeal to fans of romance mafia stories, touch her and die, slow burn spicy tales.

Ara has lost her dad, she didn't even get to say goodbye, her world is collapsing. Then, she gets a mysterious letter from him. This sets a chain of events that will help her overcome grief and find happiness in everyday things without her dad by her side. Theo is walking through life without much purpose. An aspiring author, he comes to Ara's life to quietly help her complete the tasks left to her in the letters. A wonderful put together story, cannot describe more of the story without spoiling it. This author has a gift with words.
It gets a little wordy in the middle, probably because we see the tale happening during a whole year but persevere. The last few chapters had me sobbing, they destroyed me. It took me a while to digest the content.
This book will appeal to fans of The Notebook, P.S. I love you.

I loved the sins and virtues reference on the characters' names. It fit them perfectly. I loved how much Modesty cared for the baby, and how quickly he fell for her.
The big reveal felt flat in my eyes, not the big aha I was expecting! But then again, this is not marketed as a thriller
The pacing was all over the place, I felt it rushed over some important aspects of the story and dragged on others.
Still, this book is a good pass the time read for fans of historical romance with a tiny amount of spice.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrators, Shane East and Justine Eyre were the perfect cast for these characters and made it more enjoyable.

Rounded up rating. I thought he was wishy washy one too many times. The story had its very funny moments and that is why I will read the next book in the series. The beginning was a little rushed in my view. I hope we get to see more of this couple later and find out how is it going for them.
The third act breakup was unnecessarily dramatic and really out of place with the tone of the story.
The steam was fun and it can be easily skipped if that is not your thing.

Excellent whodunit set in the 1920s India. A time of political upheaval. I love how this author writes strong female characters and men who support them showing how toxic masculinity is not universal as some want you to think. Loved every single page.

Sweet and funny single dad and nanny story. It has many hilarious moments from the get-go. It introduces the McGuire family, and we see glimpses of the other brothers. The kid steals the show along with a very tenacious turkey. I enjoyed this lighthearted book very much. It is a light read very appropriate for when you just want to pass the time and not worry too much about the world.

It feels to me that this is Kayla's most emotional read so far. Possibly because of her own experiences, it gave this story a rawness and feel that hits on a personal level. Kayla writes her characters with imperfections that makes them perfect. The playlist, when listened to under the story context, pulls at your heartstrings. I highly recommend this book for its body positivity and happy outlook on living one's life to its fullest.

Short and spicy. Well written characters. If anything, I just wish the book was longer.
