Everly writes dystopian as if we were living it :P
Jokes aside, this story is one that shows how pack mentality can turn the most moral people into monsters. In a world and timeline similar to ours, people sell their kids as property. This story is not a stand-alone book, and you must read Never Broken first.
The MMC has no name, he is a slave after all, but she is in love with him, and I am not going to lie, I too fell in love with him trying to heal him. They together embark on a journey of revenge and seeking answers. The last few paragraphs of this book make you want to have more pages because you know the ending is not the ending and you will have to wait until when the next book comes out to see what happens. The twists and turns made this book a read in one-sitting page turner.
Please check the triggers. This book would appeal to fans of The Handmaid's Tale, Hunger Games, and even Divergent.

Not as engaging as the other books in this world. But this is just a novella, and apparently it's only an introduction to a larger book. I may update my review if that comes to fruition.

This first person dual POV story touches on social media influence on amplifying something that may not be a big deal otherwise.
Grumpy sunshine trope present in a book about bookish people. I felt it just missed a bit on developing more on the drama surrounding them and it's resolution, as is, it's a few chapters long.
The characters' story itself was satisfying and this book is a quick read. If you are a fan of romance authors and their dramas, this is your book.

This book is a wonderful read. My first time reading work from Amy, I want to read more of her books.
This book has witty banter galore. What starts as a revenge plot ends as a slow burn where they cannot deny their true feelings.
The spice was a delicious morsel, just enough to make you happy without taking over the story. The plot is rather interesting.

Beautiful jewel of a book. The poetry written in prose. I loved every page of it. It made me cry, made me laugh and made me reflect.

It has been a while when a book has captured my attention so thoroughly as this one. From the get go, Ana Holguin opens with engaging chapters. The mental health representation and the exploration of perfectly curated social media lives makes this a unique take on social media anxiety.
Jo and Silas are likeable if flawed characters. Their story is a page turner and the surrounding cast just aids to move the story along. This is a slow burn, he falls first love story with some open door spice. The best bits are those between Jo and her friends.
I read to this book with my ears, Maria Liatis and Kellen Boyle conveyed the perfect performance to tell this beautiful tale of love and healing.
This book would appeal to fans of Abby Jimenez, Emily Henry, and Katherine Spencer.

Wonderful story of love, deranged love, but love nonetheless.
