Such a beautifully done book that makes you feel like you stepped into the Great Depression (that’s the 1930s for all of you born after 2000). I absolutely cried at several parts and nearly threw the book across the room at others.

And the end? I didn’t need those feels anyways.

Read in one sitting. Couldn’t put it down once it got going.

It’s a fantastic take on the “ghosts stuck in purgatory/can’t cross over” genre.

I didn’t not expect the leader of the large group of persons to end up in the position they did. Nor did I expect the survivors to do what they did in the end.

It wasn’t what I thought it was. I hate read the middle section but once it got good, it was good!!

I’m a horror fan but YA horror is not usually my thing, but this read much like other adult horror that I like.

I wanted to take my time with this and enjoy the wisdom I knew it contained (I’ve followed her on social media for a few years). But I couldn’t stop. I devoured it in a day because her writing just made me want to know more, learn more, connect more.

For those in the know: page 177 was my sob moment.

I will not be looking forward to returning this to the library from which I was the first to enjoy it.
