This series is pretty good. I didn't think space invasion would be my thing but I did enjoy it. I'm just not a fan of the romance or the fact that every time that one of the main characters should have died, they somehow miraculously survive.

I love me some true crime......but this bitch.....I just don't understand
Good even though the romance was misplaced. Also it doesn't make sense how Keralie had been sentenced to death but Mackiel and Arebella only got life in prison?? And of course Arebella played the role of the naive girl who thinks she's in love when she's really just being used..... these tropes were unnecessary

This was interesting for sure and I will go ahead and read the sequel. But all of this because one white boy felt that he deserved to be the center of attention simply for existing and because another had a fragile ass ego?

I was kind of annoyed at the fact that this is basically the same story with different characters.
In both books I also felt like the author tries way too hard to seem cool and relatable by throwing in pop culture references that weren't needed

Because I'm listening to this on audio I was super excited to see multiple perspectives! However,
SPOILER ALERT
I don't really feel like Cameron's narration was that important except for when they make the rescue. Otherwise I actually find her really annoying.
On the other hand I kept wondering who the third perspective would be and I honestly thought that it would be either Maven or Cal. Was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was Evangeline and that she set Mare free....for her own gain but still. I actually like Evangeline. She is the way she is because of how she was raised but she isn't the bitch she seemed to be in books 1&2. Also appreciate the queer rep and I don't think I realized how close she and her brother were.
I feel like Mare and Cal could use him on the throne to their advantage and they're just not taking the time to have an adult conversation. And I'm not looking forward to them pining over each other in the next book.
My predictions are that Maven is killed (hopefully by Mare), Cal becomes King, Mare becomes Queen, Evangeline can openly be with Elane and yeah I think that's it.
