I do not like Krissy AT ALL. She is truly just nosy and butting into everyone's very personal business and then has the audacity to get mad when people are angry about it.
She also has this weird "self doubt and I have to be jealous of everyone else around me" thing going on.
She spent so much time complaining about how their business wasn't doing well yet she was the one constantly neglecting it and forcing Vicky to handle both the coffee shop and bookstore alone.

I enjoyed this but I felt that it was a lot slower compared to the other two, but I did think that he ending was satisfying. I'll be doing a full review of the entire trilogy on my channel

*Update: I lowered my rating. The more I sit with it and think about it the more I dislike it

I didn't really care for the legend aspect. I definitely see why some people love this and why others are annoyed with the constant undertone of racism. I don't think a romance was necessary at all but I especially  do not understand the appeal of Sel and why he's a potential love interest with the way he treated her.
I did like the magic system so to speak though and the history behind that part.

I enjoyed this book but I did find the time jumps a littler jarring at first.
I was able to predict what the count would lead to though an and even though I knew, it still wrecked me when it happened. What's funny is that I didn't even really care for that character when I read Jade City.

On the other hand there were also some characters that I loved in book one and kind of hated towards the end because of their actions.

I did enjoy getting to see the next generation of Green bones grow up though, I thought that was a nice touch but I hate that Hilo didn't get to see his daughter in the end.

Bero still should have fucking died.

Holy fuck that was a wild ride!

It was really nice to see what was happening outside of the Burnt Empire and I'm super excited to see how it all comes together in the next book.

I LOVE Krushni and Drishya both. I can't wait to see what role they play in the next one and I'm really excited for all of the characters to mingle.

The villain in this book is so disgusting to me in every possible way and I see that as a sign that he was well written.

Can't wait to read book three!

Just like with Jade City I felt like there was something missing.

However, I still had a good time with it. I am a sucker for a good plot twist and his had plenty!

Shae used to be my favorite character but she really pissed me off in this one.
I totally agree with her decision to get an abortion. But regardless of her love for Maro, he betrayed her and assisted in almost killing Hilo. She should have let Tar get to him.

Hilo suddenly is having some
misogynistic thoughts which I did not like. Maybe I missed it in book one but some of the shit he said this time was cringe. And him wondering if he can forgive Wen for "disobeying" him was stupid. She is as loyal to the clan as he is and she's the wife of a Pillar. She played her role and helped protect her family

Speaking of Wen,
she is a complete badass and I really like her as a character. She is endlessly loyal to both the clan and her family and I love it. I hope she's okay and recovers in the next one.

I'm glad
Anden is home. Finally. And I am so proud of him for saving Wen because I think Hilo really would have lost his shit if she had been killed.

Ms. Fonda Lee,  if you don't
kill Bero's bitch ass
by the end of this series I will have words for you ma'am.

Would not recommend if sexual assault it a trigger.

Queen Jodi does it again. So much happened in just the first four chapters and I loved that. I knew there would be a twist because I've read so much of her work but I still did not see it coming and could not have predicted it.

I did not like how Caleb initially reacted to finding out what Nina had done. But finding out that he
killed the priest had me shook.

I'm glad Patrick is leaving, I hate that they slept together because it was so fucking stupid

I cannot believe that ending. Holy shit.

I don't know how the hell Schusterman came up with all of the plot twists but I can't wait to read the last book.

I didn't see a lot of this coming but I enjoyed it all. I was constantly surprised!

This was so good. My first time reading Jason Reynolds and this absolutely is worth the hype. Great discussion on a vicious cycle

I enjoyed this even more than book one!

I was so annoyed that Karina and Malik were
able to communicate while they were separated but didn't think to tell each other the whole truth. Y'all met 5 times!

I liked the way that
Hanane's story ended. I did not like how Leila and Nadia left Malik. But I was happy for him when he reunited with his mother.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of how open ended the ending is I did enjoy all of the new characters and adventures that led us there.
