I enjoyed this just not as much as I was hoping. I think a part of that is that even though I enjoy multiple perspectives and timejumps, in this one when we go back to a time period that we've already seen conversations are repeated and that is one of my biggest book pet peeves.

I was able to predict a part of the ending however the fact that
Shane was actually her brother and not Paul I did not see coming. Oliver being the killer wasn't shocking though. I figured he ended up dead for a reason

As always Angela Davis is phenomenal. This is sort of collection of speeches and interviews on various topics and I highly recommend the audiobook as it is narrated by Angela herself.

I learned a lot from this and it really does make you think about certain topics - civil rights, oppression, police brutality, etc. - on a global level.

I had no idea that Nelson Mandela had been kept on the U.S. terrorist list until 2008, and of course no one ever tells us that.

This is my second time reading Davis, and I can't wait to dive into her other work

I finally found a cozy mystery series that I want to continue!

I think there may be a few reasons for that 1. I went in with low expectations because of my previous experience with cozies 2. I really loved and appreciated the cultural elements which was missing from the others that I've read 3. I actually like the main character this time.

So if you’re a fan of cozies I highly recommend. Especially if you enjoy food, strong family dynamics as well as found family and the diversity in the book is awesome aside from the Filipino family we also have Black, Desi, and Mexican and I think Japanese characters as well as some lesbian representation

There were definitely characters and elements that I didn't like however, most of them were resolved by the end of this book so I definitely think that I'll enjoy the second book. I will be reviewing this on my channel soon!!

I only read the prologue and first chapter and those were pretty boring. It just seems like if you're a woman in Patrus your life sucks and if you're a man in Matrus....your life sucks. I can't imagine sitting through all of the books in this series

I enjoyed this more than I expected! For once I did not hate the romance element. Possibly because I knew that Romeo and Juliet was the inspiration so that's great. I'm interested to see how the relationship between Roma and Juliette shifts now that he knows the truth

I like the characters. I think they're all well-written, even the villains. I can't wait to read the sequel  and see how all of this ends. Lowkey if
Tyler
died, I wouldn't be mad. I especially like Juliette and the way that she cares for the gang. Especially at the end

Just no. I will not be continuing this series. All of the characters annoy me and the ending wasn't intriguing. I don't care about any of the romances. Amari especially got on my nerves. I may watch the adaptation but it's not likely

Finally read my first Christina C. Jones book! I did not like Jason at first but he grew on me in the end. I'm so glad there was no third act break up and I'm excited to read the rest of this series!!

I considered DNFing at 12% and then gave it another try. I officially DNFd at 24% All of the plotlines irritated me from
Dani constantly complaining about how she doesn't like what her manager has her do for videos and not standing up for herself, some random pop star starting a fake feud with her and Dani still doesn't defend herself, to a company backing out of their deal with her for her skincare line if she doesn't apologize to the white pop star who is attacking her for literally no reason, to her manager being a piece of shit. On top of all that I didn't care about Prince Jameson and the fact that he invited her to this Royal Concert without knowing any of her music and then referring to her as a stripper I just couldn't do it.  The pop culture references were excessive and romance does not need to be almost 500 pages.

To be totally honest this was really boring. I liked the way it started and then it just stopped being interesting. And then when  you think it's going to get interesting again it kind of does but I did not enjoy it. I also dislike all of the characters
