As much as I'm not fond of books which switch perspectives a lot or every chapter as this one does, the way this book had been set out made it easy to follow. I find it challenging personally to keep track of multiple storylines happening at the same time.

Each of the 3 characters who are focused on in this book did act as if they were their own person. I enjoyed each of them individually, however, sometimes it felt hard to connect with the adult characters due to their pursuit of motherhood which I do not share. This sole similarity was much of the character's motives when it came to their decisions and I personally believe is the catalyst for this story even existing.

The premise of the book was very promising, however, the ending does feel quite lacklustre. There was also not a lot of depth when it came to the plot. It was very surface level, and I feel that the characters quite honestly deserved more, especially when it came to Nella and Eliza. The last few chapters seemed a bit of a rush to close the book, and events described by Caroline, which she read in the ending newspaper article, I wish were told through Eliza and Nella's perspective as additional chapters.

This series was a difficult one for me to really invest into. I very much loved the story. Personally, I do feel that it was some of the main characters that caused it to fall flat. It's difficult to explain where the grip lost me in the series and I was hoping this last book would hook me back in. The ending closed off the saga nicely, and I don't feel like I am left with many unanswered questions or unsavoury explanations. I did enjoy Leigh's writing and I will definitely be reading the other Grishaverse books. That being said, I really wanted to love these characters but it just was not meant to be.

This book is definitely a positive move in the right direction compared to the first. A lot more happened, the plot moved smoother and the characters seemed to have more believable relationships. The writing has improved and the world building, although still not really enough in my opinion, does set up a grander scale to come in the next book. Though all this being said, the story premise is what is keeping me reading these books. I love the imagination and time which went into the storyline. It's creative, and though it follows the "Chosen One" trope, I feel it's done well and doesn't seem to distract from the overall plot line. Here's going into book 3 hoping Alina just sucks up her destiny and kicks ass!

The story is very promising and the writing flowed very nicely. I never have an issue with the following of the "Chosen One" trope and I feel that Leigh handled this concept of the book and beginning of the story very well.

My inner conflict and hurdle with ranking this book higher comes with the romantic interests of the protagonist, Alina. One of her interests definitely fits better with the type of the story being told and the way she was whisked away to a new life. However, the other seems to have developed for convenience. It simply didn't seem to fit and left me wishing there was more of the earlier days of Alina and her life growing up and the people she grew up with.

My hopes for continuing the series are that it expands on the world the story is set in, and, continues to revisit existing characters by not relying on new ones to further the plot.

Such an amazing and enlightening read. Nita does an amazing job of tackling the world through the eyes of someone who appears mentally neurodivergent. The whit and elegance of the main character Molly is awkwardly funny and charming. The fact this story takes place over the time span of a single week seems stressful, however, the pacing and chapter structure of this novel are beautifully done. At some stages I very much could not put it down because I just needed more. Wonderful work and I can't wait to read more books written by Nita.

For me it was a book which started off quite promising. However, around the 50% mark I felt like it just tapered into what was quite a heart-warming but predictable ending. The main cast and supporting characters all did seem quite well fleshed out despite their involvement, which does make me interested in reading most of the other books in the Bridgerton family. Though Violet Bridgerton remained the character I really wished I could have had more of. I always had the most fun reading when she was in the scene.
I did enjoy how easy this book was to read. The writing was well versed and I didn't feel I was having any issues with following conversation or chronological events.

Quite the thought inducer. A playfully written memoir of death and mortality well worth the read.
