this book is SO GOOD. i read the majority in a day because this is the kinda book best read when you devour it. i loved guessing all the fairytales and i loved the characters and endless representation. the girls were as promised; messy and gay. i loved them. i loved this story. and i can’t wait to see how it’s developed. the only reason my rating is slightly lower is because this book very much felt like it was just setting up future books which did dim my enjoyment a little bit but i have high hopes!! excited to continue this asap!! (also yuki, my beautiful aro-ace girl is my fav, i wish her all the happiness in the world and all the rest of them tbh)

full of philosophical intrigue and information on motherhood and learning to grow in a queer family. insightful but unfortunately also overwhelmingly boring. this is the kind of book, that like many others, i felt would have been better as a podcast. the author has so many ideas that could have been fully developed but this felt very fragmented which is sometimes well done but this just felt very pushed together. overall, okay book but not for me.

a gorgeous gorgeous book on the exploration of feelings and family and everything in between. this was so humanising, so raw and so brutally kind. these are a messy bunch of teenagers, learning to be themselves and to love all the smaller parts of each other and i loved it. from the literature references, to the flowers to the characters themselves. very very very sweet <33 it also highlighted the importance of owning who you are: with labels or without. the casual talk of asexual oft and aromanticism was so so important to me and i did shed a few tears. a beautiful debut <3

i had really high hopes but this fell short. the multiple povs mixed with the time skips sadly did more harm than good. it was difficult to keep track of and i couldn’t form any attachments to the characters. they just kinda all came across quite whiny and when they didn’t: overly hopeful. it was okay, not anything special :/

no words. this ending alone rocketed this straight up to five stars. i’m now speechless and a little terrified. this book was haunting and beautiful- with every meaning of the words.

heartbreaking in every way but full of infinite hope. she doesn’t know her place in the world or how to move on from the death of her girlfriend when no one even knew they were together. she deals with grief, life and learning that you’re allowed to be selfish. being selfish does not make you a coward, despite what other hurting people may say. you are allowed to be selfish, and this book promises you that. it leaves you drained and entirely hopeful. and let’s you know that you won’t have to chase ghosts forever. i also really liked this writing style- it felt almost lyrical at times but remained rather disjointed as you read. it read like the feeling of grief. out of touch and not quite linear, falling back to what used to be before you can look forward. i love love love <3

this hit a little close to home with the state the world is in. but this book, through all of its angst was interlaced with hope and i adored it. the writing was intoxicating and i could never tell which direction the story was going to go. i feared for all the characters separately and i absolutely fell in love with them all and this piece of writing. a very beautiful book.

a compassionate story following a teen and the relationships she makes and loses during the end of her highschool years. this novel wraps up in a bow what it means to be unequivocally human. and whilst the ending may not be what you hope, it is exactly what june needed. this novel felt like a reflection on all the broken parts of junes life and the positive steps she took to better herself in the shadow of them. thought provoking and lovely.
thank you netGalley for this e-arc! full RTC.

i ADORED this. it was creepy and sapphic and all around a whirlwind of emotions. also waffles the service dog??? owns my heart. what an angel.
but also, i found this ending really disappointing and abrupt, the book was going so well and this ending just didn’t fit the narrative that was set up for it. i would’ve liked to see a bit more closure and more of a final ‘boss battle’ at the end.
also also! the plot twists! i did not see any of them coming! (if you actually think about it, you probably will but i didn’t and i loved it) <3
