this book was so unexpectedly delightful! i very rarely, at current, find myself getting lost in a book and almost ‘forgetting’ that i’m reading but this book did that! it was fun, it was sweet, it was emotional and most importantly to me: it was easy!

i found myself reaching for it during breaks and any spare seconds i had and even staying up late to finish it, which is something i missed doing. i’m so very excited for the sequel and all the angst that’ll come with it <3!

these characters are so well fleshed out! and though the storyline pacing was a little odd, i still really enjoyed it AND the gorgeous gorgeous art in some of the chapters was a wonderful bonus.

honestly, one of the only negatives of this is that andrew is from liverpool and therefore, me imagining him saying all the romantic things in a scouse accent was making me laugh instead of swoon. (i grew up around scouse accents, so it’s HARD to find them romantic 😭 sorry andrew!!!)

this was so sweet

finished this book 2 days ago, still thinking about this book

too sad about the last couple chapters to write a review. there is a void where my heart used to be.

saara remains the BEST at plot twists and having a plot all suddenly make sense together

WILL become the founding member of the rascal fanclub though

(it’s my favourite book of the year)

the last 200 hundred pages REALLY elevated and made the story so much better

the first 400 pages were,,, a struggle. this book was good! but it also felt quite,, boring. and a lot of set up for something that needed to have been set up a lot earlier in a 600 page book. i shouldn’t have to read 500 pages to get a little bit of action or to read 400 to realise oh wait, that guys not the love interest at all. i wanted more to happen and needed more character development to become invested.

i am VERY intrigued to pick up the next one though! the ending was! something for sure!

DID NOT FINISH: 23%

I just don't think I'm a horror/thriller/paranormal reader. this was okay but wasn't hooking me, and I've read similar stories before so just needed an extra pull that it didn't have. I also struggled with the writing style in general. not a bad book - I just have other things id rather read! :)

was really fun but also a lil cringey in places (in both a good and a bad way). enjoyable but not groundbreaking <3

i had a great time tho and it’s got a fantastic selection of tropes - i also just wished for a bit more from it. it was very surface level. but! good! fun! easy!
