You don't believe in magic, do you?
Well at times that seems to be the only possible explanation. Magic is what happened between Francessa and Robert. How else can you explain that?
I can't say it was a page turner, but I did find the magic in there! :)

I thought Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Sun were it. I thought those books captured the sufferings of Afghans picturesquely enough. I thought everything which could be said has been written in those two books! I thought the third book having the same background as the other two would run into repetition. I will get bored of reading the same kind of story!
I bought the book anyway. As I turned the pages I realized how wrong I have been. The way story started was startling. It was elegant and beautiful. The way Hosseini described the lives and the emotions which drive them is unparalleled! It moves you the way you never would have!
And then there is this new style of story telling which he adopted in the novel! He starts with stories of seemingly unrelated people, and then work around them to intertwine them in the most beautiful way. Go on to show how lives and decisions made by random people effect the ones we can't even begin to imagine, and how closely the lives of people are knit!
A marvelous story. A book which you can't stop reading once you have started!
Waiting for his next book now! :)
