This thriller was well-written and kept me engaged from start to finish. The storyline, which explores how a difficult childhood can lead to mistrust in every relationship later in life, sometimes felt a bit overdone, but the plot twists kept me hooked.
One of the things I appreciated most was that I didn’t see the ending coming—a rare and refreshing surprise in this genre. Wendy Clarke creates an eerie atmosphere and complex characters that add depth to the story. Overall, a compelling read for fans of psychological thrillers.
While Wild Side wasn’t my favorite of the Rose Hill series, it was still an enjoyable read. The novel tackles grief, particularly in children, which is a difficult subject for me personally, but I felt it was handled with care and sensitivity. As always, Elsie Silver delivers a heartfelt romance—sweet and tender, much like the previous books. However, the story moved at a slower pace, which made it less engaging at times. Despite that, the emotional depth and character connections kept me invested. A solid addition to the series, even if it didn’t fully capture me the way the others did.
I listened to this book, and while it was sometimes tricky to keep up with the different characters, it hooked me from the very beginning. This is an absolute must-listen—the podcast element woven into the story adds an extra layer of intrigue and makes the experience even more immersive. Lisa Jewell keeps you guessing the entire time, and just when you think you have it all figured out, she throws another twist that proves you don’t. The suspense, the unreliable characters, and the eerie atmosphere make this a fantastic psychological thriller. A great listen!
Such a sweet and heartwarming story! I actually liked it even more than the first book—there's just something about the single dad trope and the "man rescues girl" dynamic that gets me every time. At one point, it even gave me The Bodyguard vibes (hello, ultimate romance fantasy!). One of my favorite things about this series is how the storyline continues with characters from previous books. It makes the world feel richer and more immersive, and I love checking back in with familiar faces.
A solid 4-star read for me, and I’ve already jumped into book 3!

"Wild Love" by Elsie Silver is a cute small-town romance with a heartwarming second-chance theme. The characters have great chemistry, and their interactions are fun and engaging. I loved seeing their relationship develop and rooting for them along the way. As part of a four-book series, this story has me excited to dive into the next one! If you enjoy small-town settings and second chances, this is definitely worth a read.
I listened to Maame by Jessica George on audio, and the narrator's accents truly brought the story to life. This is a poignant and deeply relatable novel, especially for those from immigrant backgrounds where caring for elders is expected above all else. The guilt of not always being present is a powerful theme that adds depth to the complex family dynamics.
The story is both heartbreaking and funny, making it a joy to follow Maame (who doesn’t actually like being called that) as she navigates adulthood and grows into herself. It’s an emotional and engaging journey—one that felt like a real treat to experience. Highly recommend!
Renée Carlino’s Before We Were Strangers is a beautifully written story about missed connections, fate, and the unpredictable twists life takes after college. I loved how the novel followed Matt and Grace from their college years into adulthood, allowing us to see their personal growth and the impact of time and distance on their relationship. The characters were well-developed, and their emotions felt raw and authentic. I especially appreciated that the author didn’t rush to a happy ending, making the journey feel even more real and heartfelt. A touching, emotional read that lingers long after the final page!
I started this book on January 1st, 2022 and quickly abandoned it. I picked it up a couple of days ago and decided to finish it. I found it inspiring, and at times a little judgey. Some great ideas on how to find time for yourself and why it is especially important for busy moms.
Giving it the average rating because I did not rate it at the time.
