great action, McCoy focused, lots of Spock and McCoy interactions,  interesting and terrifying new aliens introduced, the battle scenes were great since Kirk had was in a tight spot with most of the Enterptise functions failing.

The aliens and conflict in this were great. Wasn't a big fan of some of the characterization for the bridge crew

There was some really amazing parts of this book, but I had to get through what felt like a borefest in between them. Three different guys are in love with Iris to varying degrees of believability. The end of this book was a bit corny and forced.  I really liked the mystery of who Iris is and the end of the world business. 

I felt really lukewarm about this compared to her previous romances. Smut scenes were good

good potential and i like the historical setting. the second half of the book i enjoyed more than the first, it became more serious.

Fun to learn all the phrases and words we use that come from Greece and Rome, a lot which I hadn't thought of. 

The plot and exploration of Romulan culture and politics was the strong point here. Outside of that I was uninterested in the Enterprise crew and their 4D chess. Action scenes were great, but dialogue between characters was a bore.
