Looooved this!

The dual timeline made it impossible to put down. Both stories were so interesting.

I wanted to see a little more come of it, it felt like a really sudden end to the story. Although maybe that’s a testament to how much you grow to love the characters.

Spicy and heartwarming, this was a fantastic representation of an older lesbian. It was nice to have a protagonist older than her 20s and still figuring shit out.

This was fun and in places really great, but also uncomfortable at times especially calling them Indians when they’re indigenous South Americans. This could be the translation though.

It was a great introduction to Allende, though definitely missing the spark from her adult novels.

This is great fun for older kids though and I’m interested to see how the series continues.

This made me so desperate to read the series. Really rich worldbuilding, some fantastically interesting characters and lots of hinting at things that may happen in the future. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

Given the hype, I expected more from this.

It is tragic. But to some extent it’s pretty predictable. I’m not sure if listening as an audiobook took away some of the impact for me.

And I couldn’t help but wonder if this author should be writing a book about a disabled gay man as a woman. Always leaves a strange taste in my mouth.

This one was just ‘good’.

Idk this felt icky and just jumped around. No detail jumps 6 months
