I wanted so badly to love this, but I don't. It wasn't a retelling, as it held none of the charm. It felt inspired, but that's different. It didn't feel like a slow burn, and I didn't vibe with the romance. If it wasn't marketed as a retelling, I think I would've enjoyed it more. 

I wanted to enjoy this but I didn't connect with the characters so I didn't care about their stories. I think others will enjoy this, and they have. This is just not for me.

Definitely looking back at my mistakes and working to be better in the future. Definitely grateful for the insight this book brought me.

What a ride! And an open-ended ending? My favorite thing about this book was the love the faint had for each other. It's refreshing that they were open and honest with one another instead of miscommunication. Definitely want to read more by the author. 

I really want to give this 3 stars because this is a middle book that goes nowhere, but it ends with jealousy, and I HATE JEALOUSY. It wasn't don't well, and I hated every moment. Plus, nothing happens in this book. Could've been an email.

For me, the main romance was so weak. It was too instant to my liking. I really love slow burns, and I thought it would be. Plus I didn't feel like there was much chemistry. We were told, but it wasn't there. Still, the story was so sweet and wonderful.

I was hoping for more. Part of me feels like I could give this a 4, but I was so excited for this and it didn't deliver that I had to knock it down a bit. 

I would've like this more if the main character wasn't so unlikable. It didn't come off as if she was being manipulated. But loved the concept and had fun reading it.

A whole lot of nothing happened in the book. Definitely could've been an email. Lucky I like the characters and I'm interested in the world.

I think this is my favorite book by her. The romance was so good and so sweet. I was so happy with the pacing, and the fantasy element was so fun. Definitely a fun and cute book.
