This was better than I expected but not living up to what the summary promised. I didn't feel like it was a court room drama. That only took up a small part of the book. But I was engrossed.

Such an insightful book. It really taught me a lot. I think it's a bit long winded, but still, I found myself rushing to read and understand more.

Was this cute? Yes. Was it good? No. The potential was there, but the execution was not. Everyone spoke like a robot and it was so jarring and unpleasant. I love the plot though. Just everything else was.... not great.

What an amazing concept, but what a boring execution. Maybe there were too many things happening that didn't get the time they deserved. The writing was approachable, but I don't think the story was told as well as it could've been. 

That was so boring and really only got exciting for the last 10%, which really isn't worth it. I enjoyed the writing, but I'm left wondering if this story was even worth telling. 

Strange how the writing is so conversational, but then the dialog was written like a writer and not how people talk. The fruitcake has nothing to do with the story. It should've been taken out since it didn't add anything. 

I forgot this book had gods to fight because it was so focused on rebuilding. I wish we got other relationships with Zetian that were more developed. I enjoyed it but it felt very sidetracked.

This was so informative! Plus it was so easily digestible and never made me feel stupid. I wish I had this information when I was younger. It would've helped me so much.

This book was unnecessary, lazy, and boring. Making this series 5 books was a mistake.

There's a saying to take one thing off before you leave the house, and Alexis Hall needed to do that with this book. There's too much going on. Not to mention Hall is in desperate need of editing all their books. They're always too long and could be cut by 100 pages.
