On Muscle is a work looking at the role muscles play in not only our body, but in society and what they mean to us. Tsui uses an immersive narration style where she inserts anecdotes about her own childhood and the importance of muscle in it. I particularly enjoyed the way she uses her interviews and experiences with the experts she interacts with to paint a picture of muscles.
This style of immersive narration is one of my favorites since it helps me to connect better with the information presented and is overall a really good strategy to enjoy nonfiction novels. 4/5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

the goal of his existence was to catch the wives of the members of parliament entangled in lesbian ecstasy.... not that he would've recognized lesbian ecstasy if it had bit him on the foot
he said that a clitoris was a type of lesbian
she knew what a clitoris was and therefore was imprisoned

Nine Minds is a collection of short stories following nine individuals as they recount their experiences as autistic humans in this world. As an autistic adult myself, this was such a profound introspective piece of work. I can see parts of myself in every one of the individuals and it made me feel less alone in the world knowing there are so many more autistic people out there. I feel like the key point made in this book is that there is no one flavor of autism and just because you are able to have higher functioning than others doesn't make your experience any more invalid. I read this basically in one sitting, I felt so connected and enthralled by the individuals' recollections. I really enjoyed this book and will be recommending this to my family. 5/5 stars.

Just About a Rake is about Lady Leonora Heart and her unlikely friendship with Rake Sloane, the Earl of Dare. Their friendship turns into a scandalous affair that they must keep a secret so Leonora's virtue can remain intact. But with Leonora learning more about her parentage, complications arise that may doom the couple.
This book was such a sweet and spicy historical romance. I love how lightheartedly it tackled serious topics like being a bastard child. The slow burn of friends to lovers was so good and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the banter between Dare and Leonora. 4/5 stars.

Sweet Obsession is book number 8 in the Dark Olympus series. It follows Poseidon and Icarus's journey following the events of the previous book. I am an avid fan of this series and was very excited to receive this ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed following another couple in this universe and the dynamic between Icarus and Poseidon, while power imbalanced at first, turns into something so good and steamy to read.
The politics in this book get more complicated and I'm so invested in the story. I wish I could read this book from the beginning again. I loved reading this and would definitely recommend this to friends. I'm excited that we got a really nice set up for Zeus and Hera's story. 5/5.

Taming the Molecule of More gives us an insight into how we can make dopamine work for us in our daily lives. I was enjoying this book for the first couple chapters as it was teaching things that made sense. There were a few moments in Part II that led me to look up the author, After learning that the main author has no background in psychiatry or neuroscience, and only consulted a psychiatrist for parts of the book, I lost trust in the credibility of the content of the book. Even though everything was cited appropriately, it still felt like content from social media that gives off the vibes "Top 10 tips to improve your dopamine levels". I'm sure this book has a better audience that isn't me and it seems perfectly suited for them. But I struggle without explicit scientific proof in nonfiction books.
TLDR; I am not the target audience but it seemed a decent book for the target. 3/5 stars.
