informative inspiring reflective

Dieses Buch hat alles zum Intersektionalismus. Sehr verständlich und anschaulich geschrieben, ich fand es sehr einfach zu folgen und während des Lesens zu reflektieren.
Sollte ein Klassiker werden!

The book feels too much like trying to sell an online course. With random user stories in between and teasers for why the online course is the best. And I am pretty sure I found some mentioning of non peer-reviewed science. So everything in here should really be taken with a grain of salt!

But I appreciate the general idea of this book. I never really knew anything about my cycle, and I think as someone with a uterus, it's not good!
There is good information on biochemistry and hormonal systems in here.

Took me a while to understand the purpose of this book. But once I got over the skepticism, I started loving it.

Before I say why, I really want to recommend listening to the audiobook. The author is an experienced podcaster and the way she reads the book is more like a podcast. Very listening friendly and added with a bunch of extra information!

The book basically describes a number of feelings and stuff related to it from a scientific point of view. Each of these definitely deserve its own book! But the beauty of this book is to show the diversity of feelings we have. And it introduces some nuances that are important to know.

I think a general rule is that people do no know how to name their feelings (the book said people can name on average only 3 emotions) or they do not know what they are feeling.
Having a language to explain these things is key.

It once again makes me appreciate my mom's phase where we had emotions written all around the walls in our living room. So that we have the vocabulary to describe how we are feeling. Beautiful idea. This book gives more introductory scientific context on many of these.

Great introduction to computer science book that focuses on every day life situations and is accessible for people not interested/enthusiastic about coding and computing!
Should be a Minerva classic in my opinion. I saw many HCs re-explained!
This books might be a bit repetitive for CS people, but definitely not boring!

Reread after one year. Just to be reminded that relationships need maintenance and to get a few tips. Old review below still holds true.

I think most people know the truth about these conversation tips intuitively. But it is still great to hear them so clear!
Susan Scott breaks relationship maintenance down into doable steps without taking away the complexity. I also like how this book is not shy to say that some relationships might be past repairing and it is better for both to walk away. Very healthy.

I think the book applied to all kind of love! Not just romantic and hetero. With a few changes of pronouns or word choices, this book could have been more universal.

Beautiful young adult book. I enjoyed reading it.
Wonderful to learn about football and the fame and problems it can bring to young Argentines (men and women league).

Plot or Character Driven: Plot

Wanted to read books by Argentinian authors and found this. And the stories in the book are really well written!

A good book for me to realize that I do not like horror/thriller/crime stories. Really not my thing. Why would anyone want to read something that is just scary and sick? People are interesting.

I really liked this. Although the book follows three different people, and I historically did not like books with many story lines, this book was great! Maybe because they weren't too many and because they all met at some point.
The fantasy aspect of the book is great too. I didn't anticipate what would happen and I liked it.

Another classic on Health at Every Size (HAES) and on how fatphobia and diet culture ruins our lives.

I was really looking forward to this book based on its title and description. But I did not really get what I was looking for.

"The Sex Lives of African Women" sounds to me like a book that should have a lot of stories of women and in the best case other non cis-men on the African continent. I would have loved to read about "average" stories and non-average stories a like. The sex lives of African women are indeed something that would be extremley empowering to read about. I think.

Instead this book was to the largest part about women in the African diaspora abroad, or women who can afford to travel accross the African continent. Many of the women are queer or poly.
I am not saying that these stories weren't incredible! I actually really enjoyed reading of well-traveled, educated, and wise women and their sexual choices or lack thereof. It was also interesting to learn how the life in the African diaspora is like. And how queerness and open relationship as an African (Diaspora) women is like.

So a great book, just not what I signed up for.
