Took me a while to understand the purpose of this book. But once I got over the skepticism, I started loving it.

Before I say why, I really want to recommend listening to the audiobook. The author is an experienced podcaster and the way she reads the book is more like a podcast. Very listening friendly and added with a bunch of extra information!

The book basically describes a number of feelings and stuff related to it from a scientific point of view. Each of these definitely deserve its own book! But the beauty of this book is to show the diversity of feelings we have. And it introduces some nuances that are important to know.

I think a general rule is that people do no know how to name their feelings (the book said people can name on average only 3 emotions) or they do not know what they are feeling.
Having a language to explain these things is key.

It once again makes me appreciate my mom's phase where we had emotions written all around the walls in our living room. So that we have the vocabulary to describe how we are feeling. Beautiful idea. This book gives more introductory scientific context on many of these.
