piabo's Reviews (301)

And now I miss the series and universe already. Can I just re-read until I can recite them by heart?

And recommendations for what to read now?

How Harry was suspicious of Malfoy all along and no one listened to him...

 Is Dumbledore cool or no?

Still don't understand how everyone just accepted Harry to be a 4th champion. But still love every bit of it.

Why did I read this? I already did not like the book before, but I guess I really wanted to finish this series.

The story was boring and confusing at points. Only the end reminded me a little of the first book, that I really liked. But the end was also weird. I don't know. Not worth my time. I should really learn to put books down or make peace with not reading an entire series.

I also did not want to read more books this year (because I already read 100), so I guess I thought if I pick something up I don't like, I will not finish it. Thought wrong.

Life advise in a little over 50 sentences. I liked.

Yep, the brain is amazing. This book has a lot of psychology too and connects it to the neural substrate. But unfortunately not always or in depth. I was hoping for a bit more.

Great book about toxic masculinity and how it hurts us all. And maybe even men the most.

I learned a lot and think differently about the future now. Lots of great stuff in here. I think everyone should read this book, so we can be more intentional with our actions and informed about our position in the timeline of this planet/universe.
It seems like the current generations and their actions are extremely important for the coming thousands of years. Let's see how we will do!

The book is a little bit like Yuval Noah Harari's books, just better. I find this way more relatable and relevant. The questions William MacAskill asks are fascinating and made me think a lot about values and moral philosophy. I found this book very accessible for people who do not think about ethics and "what is right to do" all the time.
Because all of this is new to me, it also felt sensational and like fiction. Crazy.
