I found the prose hard to get into, but the content is great. It gave me a lot of food for thought. I've only known I'm autistic for about a year, and I'm really starting to dig into some deeper ideas about how people relate to autism and how we fit into this world that doesn't make space for us. This book really helped open the door and put concepts into words that it would have taken me ages to understand otherwise.
I definitely recommend it. It's a tough read, but it's worth it :)

I loved everything about this book. The found family, the witchiness, the neurodivergent vibes I got from some of the characters, the adorable children, and the appreciation of nature in a deep, spiritual way I always look for but never seemed to find in books.
I really adored this book :)

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I really did. It’s not even bad or anything, It just felt wrong. Like the whole tone of the story seemed off? But it was too light. It felt superficial.
The art of this book is awesome. The story was nice too. Except... The ending?? It had a good ending. Everything wrapped up well and made sense. Until the epilogue. I'm not even sure what to say about it, it left me so confused. It felt unnecessary? Or maybe it was trying to imply something else happened, but I have no idea what. I'm lost.
Otherwise, I enjoyed it! It wasn't what I expected, but it was good.

I didn't find Gathering Blue as interesting as The Giver, but I still enjoyed the read. Like most people, I hoped to see some of the main characters from the first book in this one. But now I see maybe they're all going to cross paths in the final book, making for a dramatic conclusion. I look forward to it!
